We have been crying to fire Jeff Ireland for over 3 years. In fact some fans went as far as renting a plane and flying it over Joe Robbie Stadium during the 2011 season begging you to fire Ireland. Some fans picketed outside the main office prior to the 2012 season. I myself wrote several letters detailing why he is NOT the man for the job. Our cries fell on deaf ears. Jeff Ireland was retained. In the 2012 Draft he selected Jonathan Martin in the 2nd round. Martin did not lift at the Scouting Combines even though he was healthy enough to do so which was a big red flag if you are looking for a good Offensive Lineman. That 2nd round pick could have been WR Alshon Jeffery, LB-Bobby Wagner, OL- Kelechi Osemele or WR-Ruben Randle. In the past you could have (and probably did) laughed at us Dolphin fans because all we were doing was complaining, and then we would reach into our pockets and buy season tickets to support your team. Now that 2012 2nd round pick Jonathan Martin has decided he does not want to play football anymore because of constant harassment by teammates. Mr Martin is now going to cost your organization MILLIONS of dollars after he wins his lawsuit (or settlement). Why? because Jeff Ireland was retained long enough with your organization to have drafted him.

Omg blame Ireland for everything...if it rains tomorrow it's probably Ireland's fault too, huh?

Just stupid. Think Pats fans are screaming for firings because of Hernandez, Panthers fans over Carruth, Eagles fans fir Cooper, or any other number of idiot players in the NFL on any other team?

Get a grip on the actual weight of this situation.

Blame Ireland for draft picks or free agent pickups and their actions on the field. But don't place the blame on him for what takes place inside the heads of two players. Ireland didn't send the texts or voice mails.

And how was Martin's performance on the field? Not all that great if you ask me.

Jeff Ireland is the architect of this magnificent offensive line, overpaid for Mike Wallace, and according to Gil Brandt and many others had the least productive draft in 2013.

Team problems start at the top. Look at the consistently successful team, they have solid front offices.

If Ireland knew Martin was suicidal before the season its pretty inexcusable that he didn't do a better job at bringing in more linemen at the very least, in case things went to hell.

Oh but he did, my friend. He drafted Dallas Thomas who was coming of a torn labrum and was unable to lift weights. And for good measure, he signed Lance Louis with a torn up knee who can barely run. LOL.

The scouting department interviewed Martin. If you are investing a second round pick in a guy you probably should do a thorough enough job to get a good idea if he fits into your locker room, so, yes, I think Ireland holds some accountability from that side.

Obviously, you are scouting, drafting and signing players and hiring coaches. You're not doing this in a vacuum. The guy who puts together a team that doesn't fit together has to be as responsible for that as he is for bringing in people who don't perform.

The paradox that Jeff Ireland is most likely going to get canned for something he in all likelihood had no role in. Fate always writes the most entertaining scripts.
