Seems Like Phins Only Score When They Need To

Ok, I'm halfway joking here but doesn't it seem like the Phins only score on offense when they need to? All of these close games, and when our D is holding the opponent down we dont score much but when the D fails us we put up a bunch of points. Also a few times I've seen us take a smal lead then our offense does NOTHING for the rest of the game until the end when we need a drive to come from behind or take the lead. Is it all coincidence or is something wrong with the play calling and we're getting way too conservative when we get even a small lead???

I think there is definitely something to be said about that point. I havent seen any numbers, but it does seem like we fail to ever build upon leads. I do think our playcalling gets conservative at times, but not usually. Not sure what it is.

uh no. more like 110% we get MORE conservative when we have the lead. how many times has this happened and yet u arent convinced? Balt, Oak, KC, Texans, STL, buff, etc etc.

not once have we extended a lead when we are up 7 or 10 pts. NOT once, only NE which was a fluke czu we never did it again and it was the WC that caused it cuz they still coudlnt stop a regulation WC formation we were running.

Sad thign is, its very evident miami can score at will when they want to so why dont they do it on EVERY series i dont know.

for instance when we got the ball back down 7 in KC, we ran the ball 2 times got zero yards and it was 3rd and 10...WTF? we didnt run teh abll the whole game why do it when we are down? i still dono how we got that 1st down to bess. another example, on 4th and 1 polite alone is like 10 for 10 on getting 1st downs and we do a fade pass which we havent done all year to haynos? we did it to lonndon and it worked but before that to bess? then to haynos? wtf?!?! how stupid is that.

and miami ran another 2 gimmick BS plays when we were in teh 1st quarter up 7 0 or w/e it was wehre we lost 11 yards in a row. how many times do we run the sweep and realize we do ntn but lose 4-6 yards?

that would have been nice. scoring in the ravens game would have
been a good choice by them also.

Again I Think The Fins Are Playing Keep Away When They Have Their Defense Play Well... Don't Make Mistakes Win The Time Of Possesion Game And The Field Positon Game And Thats How You Win The Close Games... I Don't Think They Have The Needed Talent To Take All Kinds Of Shots At Putting Up Points, Cause Mistakes Will Kill You... Right Now The Fins Are Built For The Close Games, And They Are Excelling In That So Lets Keep It Going In The Next Year Or Two Aquire The Talent Position Players And Move Up From There... YOU ARE 100% CORRECT.
If you nopen the playbook up when needed. If we are up we tend to call the same plays over and over again just with different formations and personel.
This is what I consider great coaching because if you guys forgot we are not the most talented team in the leugue. We just play well as a team and execute plays. Why empty out your playbook and give other teams a chance to find answers to what you do becasue they got you on tape.
great example on any short yardage play what is called????? Polite for a short gain.
How long you think we had that reverse in out of the wild cat formation?
we had no need to run it so we didn't.

after this KC game u will see MANY teams meaning NYJ and if we get into the playoffs do what the cheifs did, LOB the ball in the air and have the WR come down wiht it bc our secondary uses so much energy just to CATCH up with teh WR they can't jump to dfelect or even stop to see wtf is going on in life at that second.

the WR gets the ball w/out any effort he just stops the ball falls ni his lap u see 1 S and the CB fall down sideways and thats that. story of our lives with goodman, allen, and hill. this team needs so much talent in taht secondary its disgusting. if we play the pats in WC or ravens or NYJ netx week u will see the QB lob passes to Moss, Coles, Mason, Clayton, cotchery and they will come down with it jsut as NE did to us last year with a 35 pt lead in the 1st half in miami. i dono why teams went away from taht this year against us.

I noticed that against Kansas City. I was like crap down by 7 and I saw a ton of posts on the feed I was watching saying Miami is over with blah, blah, blah and I said Fins will score here. They shut up after Miami scored and scored again to take the lead. I said the D will hold them now without question.

And scoring when they need to? Sign me up everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. That means when the team absolutely needs points to either tie or take the lead...they get it done. Which is why we're 10-5.

I agree with you guys on these points but this is also how you can lose games like the one against houston which by the way if we won we'd already have the division clinched right now. You build a slight lead and then play conservative and keep away then somebody is going to sneak up on you and get a late drive to win. My point is I just don't see the urgency to put points on the board by this offense when they have a small lead even when it's early. It's very nice to be able to get points when you need it the most but it's even nicer to have the game put away and not need a late score to win.

Yeh, thats fair. I agree that they don't put teams away and need the defense to close out games for them. But the offense also saved the defense yesterday.

dude all these fans are like that they see whats infront of their eyes at the current MOMENT. they see nothing past that. when this happens and we lose they ***** but when we win with a fg with 3 sec left against a 2 and 10 team they forget all about it. but when its a 7 and 9 team that wont happen cuz they will win the game.

this is BP style of play though they were like this in dallas until he left.
