Senior Bowl 2004: Making appearances
By NEIL STRATTON
Inside the League
General impressions: Though some credited the North squad with having a more talented roster, no players stood as breakout players after Tuesday's workout. In fact, the South's players looked far better on the second day of practices and had much stronger performances.
The oddity Tuesday was that while usually all-star weeks are made for defensive players, and especially defensive linemen, the offensive linemen impressed the most. Several blockers, including LSU OG Stephen Peterman, North Carolina OG Jeb Terry, Arkansas OT Bo Lacy and Tennessee OC Scott Wells in the South, and East Carolina OT Brian Rimpf and Ohio State OT Shane Olivea for the North.
Also showing glimpses of greatness for the North was Oklahoma State OH Tatum Bell, who had exceptional quickness and acceleration, and even showed flashed of surprising strength, but had trouble holding onto the football at times.
For the South, Alabama WO Triandos Luke made a spectacular catch at the sideline that drew oohs and aahs from the spectators. Mississippi State DE Tommy Kelly also impressed.
