It's absurd to think Ross is a bad owner because of the Harbaugh deal. Everyone knows that Ross wanted Harbaugh, and when that didn't pan out, Ross threw $7 million at his fall back plan, Jon Gruden, who turned it down because he was still collecting a paycheck from the Bucs for doing nothing. Do you think the 49ers offered more than Ross? That team does not have great finances and its ownership does not have deep pockets like Ross does. I can guarantee you that the highest figure thrown at him came from South Florida. Harbaugh wanted to stay in the Bay Area, period.
Give Ross credit for trying and wait and see who he gets this offseason for us. My guess is it will be Gruden and I will be very happy with that. He is a huge upgrade over Sparano.

when you are 7-9, 7-9 and NOT looking to improve the team where there might be an opportunity, then you have a problem. the only thing wrong with ross (michigan wolverines) talking to harbaugh (michigan wolverines) while sparano was still coach of the team was that it didn't stay private (from you, me, the media, sparano). omg, our owner sucks so much, news of him trying to improve the team that was never supposed to be made public was made public. imagine! the nerve! if he were given a do-over he plays it differently. so what? live and learn. i'm not knocking him for trying.

Yeah, I think it's hilarious that people complained about how unfair it was to Sparano. Hey, Sparano is a bad coach. He ought to be concerned about his job, because he stinks at it.

any prospective hire should know, if you aren't doing the job we will be speaking to other coaches that may be able to replace you and do the job. it should be that way for all 32 teams, shouldn't it?
