I was thnking about that movie where Philly had open tryouts and got that Vince guy for a wide receiver. I reallyl want to know from some of you sports geeks. In the hypothetical: Could the dolphins hold an open tryout for receivers and sign them (if they didnt suck) or would that have something to do with the trade deadline?

Teams can try anyone out at anytime.

I suggest we sign Juan Huron, even he could be better than Ted Ginn

It's perfectly allowed, although teams only do it more as a joke nowadays than anything. I know for a fact the Marlins hold open tryouts each year (highly doubt anybody even got onto a minor league team).

I think those kind of things would be more as a joke before the season. At this point they wouldn't do it, as the coaches, and the rest of the team focus on the team and all other aspects. No need to fool around with that crap, even for fun.

If you want somebody extremely fast, you're going to have to wait a year for Demps to be available to the draft (runs a low 4.2), ran a 10.04 100 meter dash

Why is everyone so captivated with SPEED? Can you make sure a guy can catch a ball first?

Ted Ginn has SPEED too!
