Serious Question Re: Roy Williams

Okay, I don't want this thread to turn into a debate on whether or not we should trade for him or whatever, I just have a fairly simple but serius question.

What kind of money is he commanding in the free agent market/what do you think he would sign for an extension (In the event we do acquire him)? I don't want wild speculation, I would like to know certain facts about how much the top receivers are earning and how many years he might ask for.

Javon walker got 16 million to sign and over 50 mil. Jerry porter got 12 to sign in jax. Both are not top receivers. Moss owens and fitz are the three highest paid and they are all 9 to 10 per. I think roy is going to want 8 and get it in the open market.

Didn't Lee Evans just get something like $9mil a year? Williams will want a deal similiar to that if he gets traded. He will probably get even more if he makes it to free agency.

This guy is another injury waiting to happen. No way do you give that kind of money to a guy unless you are SURE he is your #1 WR. I'm not sold RW is a #1 WR. One good year is all. You don't trade high picks and give all that money for such an unknown. I just don't see BP wasting energy on something like this. Build through draft and smart trades like the Fasano and Ayodele one.

Patience folks - build slow and smart and this team won't have another mess on their hands again. We aren't one player away!
