Shane Olivea was released by the Chargers. He's started all four years and he's been fairly good. He's only 26 and he's a natural guard. Is he still a free agent or is ESPN FA Tracker telling me lies? If he is I think he's certainly the missing piece to our new line. Please someone tell me if he is a FA still and if so why the hell he hasn't been signed?

yea he is still a FA but he is a Tackle not a Gaurd

I think San Diego cut him because he had a poor attitude and was pretty much regressing. Shane Olivea was good at one point and time, but for whatever reason he let himself go.

Yeah, kinda surprised still that he's available. He would be a good pickup IMO. His play has declined but he's still better than what we have right now.

The reason Shane Olivea was cut was cause of Chronic Back Problems. A guy like him or Barry Sims could be brought in for Depth. Its always nice to have some good veteran depth. Im sure we will some FA vets after the draft.

Ive been saying this for 2 months . We should sign Olivea to a2yr contract. He was great before this past year and still can be very productive. I think hed sign cheap being that no one offered anything to him. He is 6'4" 312 lbs and only 26 years old. I think its worth a gamble. It could pay off and his back could flare up here and there. I say bring him and talk to him work him out and see what happens. He cant be any worse than Mormino by no means. Lets do it
