Kevin Acee, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports the San Diego Chargers released OT Shane Olivea Thursday, Feb. 28.

yea id take him...shocked that he was cut

Bad back in and out of the lineup he was one of the ones that wasn't healthy in the Playoff loss to NE. Not to mention he's a right tackle and we have Carey there.

he is good. if we pick him up, then carey would have to stay at LT - where he did great but you could tell that wasn't his natural position. but that wouldn't be all bad i guess. he has a ton of talent. i wonder why he got released.

even if we sign him and flozell and bounce carey in to gaurd then we just draft a gaurd later in the draft

Hey with our line the way it is any quality Ol deserves a call.

Ever since he signed his contract his play has slipped. Heard there was talk of cutting him months ago.

wow...he did...he is like top 10 RT's in the league.....man i would love to get him at RT,Carey at RG,Flozell Adams at LT,Samson Satele at C,and Justin Smiley at LG...I want Faneca, but I think Flozell and Justin is cheaper, maybe even those two combined would be cheaper thana Faneca all together....

GO FOR IT!!!!!!! he's a great RT, especially because he's young. with parcells/sporano always in his face, he'll be motivated to be, oh, let's say, quite possibly a jonathon ogden or maybe, just maybe, a faneca of the right side, and at tackle. if he can properly be motivated, i think he'd be amazing, and he'd be a franchise RT.

we already have one of those...

as mentioned above, if he has injury problems no thanks. and if anything he's probably move inside and keep Carey at the RT spot.

that would be a decent pick up Oliviea is not a bad player at all and at the moment we need a RT
