SHAQ just signed for 100 Million over 5 years... His agent says he chose to save the heat money so they can win a championship..... He saved the Heat 25 Million... I have to admit... when this guy was with the Lakers he was easy to hate, but time after time in Miami he is showing me what he really cares about... Winning a championship.... As well as saving the Heat tons of cap room... His presense will ensure a chance to win it all the next few years... I love it

Um, don't get *TOO* carried away with The Big Philanthropist. Yes, he's saving the Heat money in the short term, but in 2 or 3 years, that contract's going to be a SERIOUS albatross. The short-term savings are the tradeoff for Shaq getting paid to do not much after age 35. The Heat know he's not going to be of much use at the end of the contract, and so does he. Remember that the original talk was for a three-year extension.
 
Speaking practically...Since when is 100 mill considered cheap?
 
looks like the heat are in full blown win now mode. last time they did that with the signings of eddie jones and brian grant it backfired in a big way.
 
Well, if Shaq helps lead them to a title in the next 3 years, it's worth it. Like I said, I think they're probably writing off those last two years of the deal.
 
If Shaq asked for 125 million, Miami would have gave him the money. That is why 100 million is cheap. The guy scores 3 less pts per game and 1 or 2 less boards and all of a sudden he isn't the most dominant player in the game? Please, this deal w/ Shaq automatically put Miami in contention for the next 3 years at least... Even if Shaq is 45 years old.. he will still have a presence that makes the team so much better... and with Walker, Williams, and Wade... He doesnt need to score 27 a game.... I LIKE IT

Seattle has the Mariners, Seahawks, and Sonics. Three real teams, three nice arenas/stadiums. Buffalo has the Sabres, who by your admission don't do much, and the Bills. Nuff said.

The Sabres are doing nothing this year. The Sabres were in the finals in 99, and lost a game 7 in OT being away from the Eastern finals recently. They just recovered from a crooked owner as well, the team would've been a contender had they had a real owner.

The Mariners, Hawks, and Sonics have accomplished less than the Sabres and Bills. Nuff said.
