Not that this picture necassarily means anything. But Alexander is a free agent. Deshaun Foster is also a free agent that is coming off an injury and the Panthers were luke warm on re-signing him anyway. So it kind of makes sense. There are also rumors that Koren Robinson could end up in Carolina. Robinson has had a troubled past, but he seemed to have turned it around somewhat. ESPN has Carolina as a possible destination for Alexander. That, with another good WR would make Carolina a favorite to meet US in SB 41. :D

Alexander is weak. Sure, he will punch in a bunch of touchdowns. But as we saw in the Super Bowl he isn't even an every-down back. In the 1st half last Sunday he was only playing every other play. The guy has had 1 good playoff game in his CAREER! Yes, his entire CAREER!!!!!!! I wouldn't pay him what he wants, he isn't worth it

Please, the man had 95 yds on 20 carries in the superbowl. It is not his fault that Holmgren didn't run the ball enough because they fell behind. Alexander may not be the toughest player in the league, but you cannot doubt his talent. Alexander would be a huge upgrade over the fragile and mediocre back Foster. Carolina really needs a running back and I don't think Foster is that back. Alexander may be too expensive but Carolina could used him. Apparently the Panthers are looking at Chester Taylor, who I doubt is the back they need,.

he's had 3 good playoff games by my count. against green bay in '03 he had 3 touchdowns. of course he had the great game against carolina. 95 yards against pittsburgh in the super bowl sounds good to me. so, 5 career playoff games, 3 of them good. yeah....that's bad.

Ricky or Ronnie would be hailed as Barry Sanders and Walter Payton if they had over 20 TDs and 1500 yards on the season, plus 95 in the Super Bowl. Dont diss Alexander. He has been the model for consistency the last 3 or 4 seasons.

Carolina would be an un-real team with Alexander to go along with Steve Smith....what an offense they would have.

Talk about a balanced team. Their defense is, of course, formidable. To have a back of Alexander's caliber would take alot of pressure off of Smith. And think about Smith actually being freed up even more with more effective play action. IF Carolina can add another quality WR, they will really be the team in the NFC.

Ignorance is bliss

I'd go after Edge if I was them. Edge is a great blocker and receiver too, Alexander is a really good back though, they would be a better team with him running the ball.

Im sure AZ does want James but why would he go there if he could go to Carolina or a contender? Yea if AZ throws a billion dollars at him he might go I guess. They should have traded the pick they wasted on that dud 2nd round RB they drafted last year for Edge.
