Profootballtalk.com reports that the Eagles have offered RG Shawn Andrews to "at least one team" in trade discussions.
Andrews battled depression and back surgery in 2008, but still has lots of value because his contract is cheap, he's a 26-year-old two-time Pro Bowler, and he can play both guard and right tackle. Philadelphia probably wants at least a second-round pick, if not another chance to draft in round one. Apr. 23 - 12:24 pm et

This kid is an elite player when he is healthy and has his head straight. He would shore up or RG spot for a long time. He is only 26 and is a HUGE MAULER!!!!

What do you guys think???

Phins could put him at RG, but again the FO is in the business of gaining more picks this draft, not trade them. Even though he is a great player, I think a 1st or 2nd is to muchfor the Fins right now.

Eagles would ask for a ton. That's not a need of ours at all at this point. Granted, he's a great player there's no way in hell we give up even a 2nd for him right now.

id trade a second for him.. thats not likely but if i was gm and that was the askin price id do it..

He's a very good player but has missed almost two full seasons in five years. A 2nd is a ton to give up for a team still building like us especially given his injury history.

This staff doesn't trade away picks as a general rule unlike the never ending strings of picks given away by previous regimes. We don't have a strong need for a starting guard, so basically no it won't happen.

Remember the year that we were set on getting Andrews, and the eagles moved up a ton to get andrews and we ended up with Vernon Carey...man that pissed me off. Im all for trading a 2nd for him. He's a strong kid

It would be an improvement on the line. And the fact that we have traded 2nd round picks for Joey Harrington, AJ Feely, Daunte Culpepper, etc... It would be like winning the lottery if we get a player of his caliber compared to these other guys. But I doubt we would do it.

Although I don't believe the rumor, if it were true, it wouldn't make sense. The Eagles are in need of OL. Why would they trade a young pro bowl player, unless there was something that concerns them about him. ie. a nagging back injury or possibly his mental state. Just doesn't make much sense. Think about it.

Uh yeah and that philosophy got us where?

This rumor is bogus. The Eagles spent the entire off-season trying to appease Andrews by surrounding him on the offensive line with friends and family (Andrews and Peters), they aren't going to trade him. He is their franchise lineman. PFT is a joke.
