Yeah I was amazed with the class them Illini got but now he can't send out 150 text messages a day so he's gonna be hurting... Good luck with your QB named "Juice."Recruiting well in college doesnt necessarily equate to success in the NFL.
Some coaches can flat out recruit, look at Zook. I'm sure there are a lot of Zook haters in the state of Florida, but as an Illini Alum, I am thrilled at having Zook as our coach. For a program that couldnt contend with any of the Big Ten powerhouses, he was able to recruit arguably the #1 WR this year (Arrelious Benn) and the #2 DE (Martez Wilson). We might not win many games this year or next, but Zook proves he still can bring in good players.
I can see Ginn evolving into a Reggie Wayne type player at some point.Let's be clear about this: Miami might have made a mistake drafting wide receiver Ted Ginn ahead of Brady Quinn, but it did not reach for him. Had the Dolphins passed on Ginn, the Houston Texans very likely would have taken Ginn one pick later at No. 10. Ginn was the player the Texans wanted. They envisioned lining him up as the home-run threat opposite Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson and giving them a pair of receivers that almost could equal Indianapolis' Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.
Hasn't anyone learn nobody is good until they start playing? Sheesh. Robert Gallery anyone? How many other 1st round busts at the tackle position?* After years of having the worst offensive line in football, nobody has a better left side than the Cleveland Browns. Third-overall pick Joe Thomas will man left tackle, free-agent acquisition Eric Steinbach will man left guard, and running back Jamal Lewis will run behind them all day.
Wayne? I see Ginn developing into a Marvin Harrison type...a little small but extremely quick. I feel he is exactly what we need. Just the threat to go deep will loosen the defenses. Imagine if we ever connect. It will really open the run game.
