Shelby's soft edge

During my second viewing of the game, I saw that every run to Shelby's side (mostly right side) got to the edge. I did not see him set the edge once during the game. Yikes! Just like last year, I am going to dread seeing Shelby subbing for Wake or Vernon.

True, but Shelby was atrocious during the Redskins game.

I would have to re-watch the game, because setting the edge was one of Shelby's strengths.

Moral of the story: We need to find some edge setters at DE in the future. Tired of seeing opposing runners eat us alive on runs to the outside.

i agree, and personally though Fede did a better job out there in this aspect, better game overall than Shelby.

From what I saw, fede did an excellent job setting the edge

Just like last year??? Last year Shelby ranked 8th in the league against the run among 4-3 DE's.................8th....in the entire league!

All I know is every time the run came his way at the end of last season he did not set the edge. I cannot understand the rating you mention. Who was it?

All I know is that the Rams have 5 1st round DL. And guess what they can't set the edge. Maybe the deadskins are better than all expected.
