Shockey expected to sign with Panthers or Dolphins today

If this were 5 years ago, id be ecstatic. But Fasano has played better than Shockey in the past few years, I see no reason why we need Shockey. Sure, it wont HURT to have him, but...I dont see why theres hype about it.
 
Wonder what the rush for Shockey is to sign before the CBA expiration? Wonder if there is some incentive: signing bonus, beat the other FA's to the punch to get on a team, or afraid teams will just draft a TE versus paying him ?

I like Shockey, but won't be heart-broken if we don't get him. Either way, we still need a QB to throw him the ball, so not too much different at this point.
 
Owen Daniels just got 4 years and 22 million . . . god I hope this isn't close to what Shockey signs for if he comes here.
 
Shocky's career has come down to only being wanted by the Dolphins or the Panthers. Ouch.

There's hype anytime any rumors are created in all facets of media. It's how things are.

But aside from that, and aside from the draft, this is really the only "rumored" activity this team is currently making.
 
Guess we can move this thread now. Bummer. I kinda wanted him.

Oh well, at least I can go watch him at our hometown Panthers training camp.
