Parcells will love this guys running style. He will be there at 56 and maybe in the third. He seems like a Barber type back that I believe will appeal to our staff.

correct me if im wrong but the guy ran near a 4.7 on the 40 yard dash. I dont think he will be drafted in any of the first three rounds with that number. He is from Jersey so i know parcells will know him very well.

Id look for a low 4.6 on his March 23rd pro day. He will be a day one pick. If you looking for a speed back, that just isn't who this guy is. He will however run someone over and give us a 2nd and 4.

Have you seen him play?. He has football speed. He will be a good player in the NFL.

greene is an excellent football player, and his times show that hes an okay athlete.

i think he'd be an excellent bruiser type. I dont think we need him though, only because he'll be gone by 4th round, and we just dont need an RB that early this year. Definitely next year we need a rookie RB fairly early.

I like Greene.

But I would also really like LeSean McCoy (not in the first) or Rashad Jennings. I love Ronnie Brown, but his contract will be up...as will Ricky's.

"When the top running backs for the 2009 draft are identified, Iowa’s Shonn Greene often is overlooked.
His Pro Day workout could change that. Per a league source, 29 teams attended Greene’s session.
He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 and 4.54 seconds.
His vertical leap was 39 inches, a two-inch improvement over his Scouting Combine performance. Greene launched a 10′6″ broad jump, good for a five-inch improvement. He pushed up 23 reps in the 225-pound bench press, a four-rep improvement over his Combine performance."

As a Hawkeye fan, I'm clearly biased and my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt... That said, here's what I think after watching him this year. He runs very angry... always downhill and always looking to deliver the hit. Yet he's so nimble... go watch any of the videos on youtube and see how many tackles he spun out of and/or bounced off of for extra yards. He's not going to outrun fast d-backs, but it typically takes more than one hit to bring him down. I just hope he has success wherever he goes. It was a joy watching him this year.
