First the incorrect quoting of dolphin players stating that they "bought tape" now they just said that Steve Young said Daunte missed meetings. If they would have watched the whole game they would of heard the clearification of that statement by the rest of the Monday Night Crew. One of the crewman said something like "Steve Young wanted to clear up his statement about Daunte missing meetings, he hasn't missed any meeting except for one, and that was because he was having surgery."

I'd like to say thanks Palm Beach Post for trying to poison our team. If it's not intentional, then it's your responsibility to get the facts straight.

Yeah, but he also corrected himself (via Theismann) by stating that what he said was incorrect. The PBP didn't write that part.

I emailed the post. They said they corrected it in the late edition and will be part of Wednesday's story.

It's still shoddy reporting. You don't print something unless you've investigated it, and they didn't investigate at all Young's allegations of missing meetings before printing that he said it. Had they done ANY investigation whatsoever of even Young's comments, by simply calling him and asking Young to elaborate on them, they would have found out that Daunte Culpepper heard those comments from the Dolphins suite, immediately walked over to the press box where he confronted Steve Young and Joe Theismann and told them he has not missed any meetings at all except one meeting while he was having surgery on his knee (I think I'd call that one excused...).

Steve Young apologized straight to Daunte's face and admitted he never should have said those remarks over the air.
