Shough vs Tua

was hoping Lane would come down here to coach these underachieving fools.
Ya know, Kiffin was young and had a tough time in Oakland. Who wouldn’t have during that time.
The man has grown and he’s not old and really enhanced his brand
Would love to give him another shot in the NFL and the Fins

This season, I agree. Past three seasons? I disagree. Not that hard.
You mean past 3 seasons when he lead the team to nothing? No division titles, no playoff wins and a laughable record vs winning teams? He sucked then…he sucks even worse now.

You wanted the team to sign him to that extension didn’t you? Yeah…so your opinion on Tua can be disregarded across the board.

Are we talking singles tennis?

I'd make the trade right now if this was crazy land. Shough didn't look like the second coming of Brady but he showed something that *may* develop vs the QB who has peaked.

This is a good post. Props for the share.

I’m sorry this is 100% accurate.

Shough is a 26 year old rookie. He is 1.5 years younger than Tua who has been in the NFL 6 years. He was a freshman at Oregon in 2018 and he backed up Herbert for two seasons before he was drafted. He was in the same recruiting class as Trevor Lawrence.

I make this point because he was eligible to come out in 2021. Injuries and a redshirt season allowed him to play 7 collegiate seasons. He is not a “rookie” in the traditional sense. He is as developed as he will ever be.

He might be ready to come back to the NFL in a few seasons. He last 6 years in Oxford but his typical stop is much shorter than that.

There's going to be a lot of pressure at LSU and the whole situation with the governor getting involved is bizarre. LSU is a great job but you have to be really successful and tough to last there as a HC.

He will get better with another year under Moore's system and with better players on the roster. I was impressed with him today and he's had a couple other really good games this month.

I think improvement will also come when he gets used to the speed of the NFL. He was a dropped pass away from winning this game and the pass to Olave was on the money. I think he is the kind of guy we should aspire to draft in both of the next 2 drafts. I'm not sure we're going to draft high enough to get a top QB prospect in either draft but a big kid with a lot of starts who can move around a bit and throw the ball into tight windows would be a nice change. We have 4 picks on the second day of the next draft, give it a shot

I appreciate your point of view. But ideally the NFL QB coaches should be better than the college ranks and may be able to squeeze some more development into him.

Ultimately he is still a somewhat unknown. Tua is very much a known. Without Alontae Taylor's complete unwillingness to tackle Achane on his touchdown run, the Tua led Dolphins did nothing on offense... at least in the air. Shough at least had a spark from time to time.

To make a dad joke. I think Tua's fish is cooked. I would welcome anyone new to try out.

So you'd like to see crappy QB play from a 26-year-old rookie for the rest of the year? Is that fun?
Were getting crappy qb play out of a 6th year rookie!!! Slough isnt a finished product but his best days are ahead. Tuas? Tua to me looked disinterested in anything going on on that field today.

The league has figured out how to defend Tua. He’s not capable of processing at a high enough level to overcome his enormous limitations physically. Hell, they can’t even run a QB sneak to gain a half of a yard because of Tua and for some reason, either Tua or McDaniel, they can’t or won’t run a hurry up offense. What good is it to keep going like this?
IOW, Miami is going nowhere with Tua and McDaniel.
