Shough vs Tua

Well...wouldn't we all, but that wasn't the question. Tua or Shough? If New Orleans a one for one deal, would you take it?
Who pays Tua's salary? If you are convinced that Tua will never be fixed, then you trade Tua for a bag of dirty laundry to a team that will take on the contract. If you think Tua can be fixed, then no way. Shough has nothing to do with it. He hasn't even earned the right to have the question asked.....

Shough was far and away the better QB in the 2nd half. He has very little experience. He is bigger, faster and a bigger arm. I think we know one players' ceiling already.

I bet Shough would have loved to have had the running game Tua was afforded yesterday, makes play action that much harder to defend.

Tua had a great running attack to work with yesterday (2x as many yards rushing as the Saints @ over 5 ypc) and was still the second best QB on the field!! 😂 😂 😂

Lets not crown dude after one game. Both are limited. I would say neither. Ill take mahomes or allen
He's had 2 good games, a bad one and a so-so one this month

239 yds 2 TD 1 pick. 91.9 QB rating at Miami
243 yds a pick and a 74.1 rating vs Atlanta
282 yds 2 TDs no picks and a 128.9 rating vs panthers
176 yds and 1 TD, 1 pick with an 81.3 rating vs a very good Rams D

I think this 26 year old can play and don't see what's limited about him. the rating and stats look even better from yesterday if Chris Olave hauled in a great pass at the goal line.

Shough and it’s not even close. Switch qbs yesterday and the score is a blowout. Tua keeps opponents in the game. He is broken and nothing will fix him. He doesn’t have many more days as a nfl qb.

If you could trade the players straight up, contracts included, with no penalty, you would do it in a heartbeat.

Are you looking to sign impact FAs with the deferment? If not, what's the rationale?
Ummmm, yes, that's generally a key rationale for a team in maximizing its salary-cap space.

An 'impact FA' signed in 2026 wouldn't necessarily be limited to playing for the Dolphins *only* in that season, with a multi-year contract he could stay with the team for several more seasons.

There's a significant difference between building primarily via the draft as opposed to building only via the draft.

Fair point about a player being here longer than a year but I don't see how it maximizes the cap at all.

The cap is not a hard, yearly number. It is an average over several years. Yes, there is a hard ceiling but the way contract structure can be manipulated that can be worked around fairly easily.

I would rather clear the books of dead money ASAP, leaving more $ and flexibility later.
