So who is the one player most fans will look back at the 2015 draft and say Miami should have drafted that guy when they had the chance? I think Green-Beckham and Gurley could be available at 14 and could leave fans cursing for years if they pan out. I'm not saying Miami should or should not draft one of these players, but they both seem like the type of players that could get a GM fired for not pulling the trigger when they had a chance.

Todd Gurley. Theres going to be a lot of teams who pass on him and look back with some regrets when he's a top 5 RB in the NFL for the next 5+ years.

I think people are missing the point on Gurley, Gordon, or whomever is the latest RB that changes a team. RB is not like QB. There's a reason the value of RBs has dropped in the last 10 years. It's because you can find good ones throughout the draft or even rookie FA. It's also because even great RBs have short shelf lives. If we pass on Gurley and he turns into the next Lynch or Peterson, I'm not going to lose sleep over it because Miller plus another good RB can fill the void. In addition, there will likely be another 2-3 Gurleys or Gordons in next year's draft. Great backs just aren't that rare.

I would only be pissed in 3 cases and 2 of them are miracles:
1. Shelton somehow drops and we pass.
2. Kevin White somehow drops and we pass.
3. Perryman is there, not at #14 but at a lower pick in a trade-down or in the 2nd round, and we don't take him. In my opinion, Perryman is the kind of General at MLB that can generally make every player on our defense better for the next 10 seasons.

AJ Duhe, couldn't the same thing that you're saying about Gordon and Gurley apply to Shelton. A number of first round defensive tackles have flopped, while later round picks flourished. Terrence Knighton was drafted in the third behind BJ Raji, Peria Jerry, Ziggy Hood, Ron Brace, Fila moala, Sen'Derrick Marks, Alex Magee and Jarron Gilbert. Seem like big run stuffing defense tackles have just as much of a chance of developing from a 4th or 5th round pick as they do from a 1st or 2nd round pick.,

Xavier Cooper???

Its easy for any armchair GM to pick DGB in rd 1, simply because they have no accountability. Real GM's do.
I can't take any mock seriously that puts DGB at 14.

I think all the people wanting DGB will look back and deny they ever wanted him when he becomes a bust like Cordarelle Patterson.

I can't predict who we'll be sorry we didn't get until I see who was available when we picked.

This is just not true IMO. Whether or not you care if you miss out on Gurley is a different matter…that is all up to you. That said Todd Gurley is the best back out since Adrian Peterson and its not even close. He's like an Andrew Luck of Runningbacks…those guys don't grow on trees nor do they show up in every draft. There hasn't been a first round RB selected in the past 2 seasons…there is a reason why he is going to go in the first round even WITH the fact that he's coming off an ACL tear…teams aren't stupid.

Gordon is great in his own right but I don't think he deserves to be in the same conversation as Gurley as a player.

Big assumption on your part that he stays healthy....like he hasn't the last 2 seasons.

They are bigger, faster and hit harder in the NFL.

Could be…no doubt about that. But injuries are unpredictable…so Im not going to predict them. Again I have no problem with people not wanting to draft him because of his injury or whatever other valid reasons. My major problem is with people docking him because of his position or saying you can get guys like him later…because you just can't.

He played what 6 games this year and had over 900 yards and 9 TDs. On the field he's the best RB talent we have seen in years. I don't think the Dolphins will draft him…but Ill sure be glad if they do.

Making a "safe pick" like Malcolm Brown (or any other DT/interior OL) at 14 this year over a Gurley, DGB or Strong will be the Jared Odrick trade down over Dez Bryant decision all over again. We make a decent selection but end up with a pretty damn average and replacable player instead of taking a bit more of a risk and taking a real playmaker.

dgb has the potential to make us regret passing on him, but other than that im not really sure. maybe if some how a Shelton or white made it to us and we passed. you cant be mad if we pass on gurley due to the injury. a lot of woulda coulda shoulda. you never know

with gurley, you couldn't really blame any gm that passed on him in the first unless he is that missing piece to get over the hump. I like gurley a lot and wouldn't be upset if we took him, but we have so many needs to risk a 1st on a rb coming off and acl. yea most of the time guys come back, but there are others that are never the same. its risky unless you are in the 20's imo

Gurley no doubt he is a once every ten year back,Miller is the epitome of Miami over the last 15 years, mediocre, good but not great. What Gurley
would bring to the table cant be matched. He is a game changer, would make play action killer by holding lbs up thus allowing Landry and hopefully Claymake a living behind lbs.He would be able to finish off games when we have the lead and not to mention I believe its a contract year for Miller and another 1000 yd season hhe will want big bucks. He is marketable now dump him I realize we have other glaring needs but you dont always have a chance to draft an elite player. Teams get good bby drafting best player available not filling needs with 3rd or 4th options at a position, sure we could use Waynes,Shelton,or Thompson but will they be in pro bowl at all in 1st three years. He COULD and should make the offense special.
