Don't get me wrong, I'm all about continuity and fixing the offensive line, but I don't feel like Pouncey is living up to his $10 million cap hit.

Obviously there would have to be a target in free agency or the draft to replace him, but with all the other needs on the team, I'd seriously consider it.

As a post June 1 cut, it would save Miami $9 million against the cap with only a $1 million cap hit.

It would also rid Miami of one of its so called leaders, who doesn't really seem to be much of a leader at all.

Sure cut the only decent offensive lineman we have that makes sense

He is by no means the only decent lineman we have. Albert is better when healthy and James is also pretty good. I'm not saying to get rid of him necessarily but I do think he makes a good bit more than he is worth. Miami needs to spend their money more wisely and I can see why they may or may not decide to get rid of him. If our line wasn't already so bad I would say do it.

i do not think he has played well in two years. he only looks ok bc of what is around him imo.

Yep. Cut the only centre we have. Made the pro bowl, but hey, cut him anyways. Then sign a bum, waste a probably high draft pick on a replacement, but complain because he costs 10 mil a year.

Unbelievable

Highly overrated, sadly. He doesn't play up to his reputation. And I'm not even sure how his reputation grew to its current level.

As far as trading him, he was a first round pick, and we would never get a first round pick for him today. Cutting him? Maybe. Depends on what we would be doing with the cap savings.

I would get rid of him. While he's talented, a competent front office should be able to piece together an offensive line that doesn't consist of 3 first round picks and multiple highly paid players.

Pretty stupid to look at like that. Just becuase you have first round picks you dont just get rid of them.

We just spent the 19th overall pick on a right tackle, Pouncey better not be the only decent offensive lineman we have.

Anyways, to answer the OP: yes. God yes. Whenever theres a situation brewing on the team Pouncey seems to be right in the middle of it. Hes had a string off of the field issues as well. Sell high, buy low. Pity we didn't come to our senses last offseason when Rodney Hudson was available.

Pouncey is not worth the money he's getting. And, with Albert's constant injuries, they need to replace him too. Philbin ruined this team, so why keep overpaid linemen who were brought in to run Philbin's ineffective finesse style of football? It's a fresh start with a new Head Coach and GM in a division with tough physical D-lines, so why not build a tough physical O-line? The team screwed up by giving Tannehill a huge contract extension before he proved that he deserved it. The team also failed to build a competent O-line to protect that QB and give him the chance to earn that contract. Now Ross hires an inexperienced Head Coach just because he may be able to improve Tannehill's play. I'm not a big Tannehill fan, but I would allow him the chance to show what he can do behind a real O-line. The problem is that this team doesn't have one. They spent a lot of money and high draft picks, but they did a poor job of it. (I'm not sure if this is due to the Front Office personnel making bad decisions, or if they brought in players that Philbin liked.) They need to build a strong, dominating O-line ASAP. What good will it do hiring Gase to help Tannehill if the QB spends most of the time on his back?

Just plug in our back up center McClendon that replaced him this year and save the money. Draft a guard and swing tackle.
Sign a veteran guard.
He is not worth 10m
