I have been a Miami Dolphins fan since 1970 and the acquisition of the Don. Since Marino hung up his cleats our QB situation has been dismal and the continuing theme is "lets get another retread in there while we await Marino's successor" The roll of shame: Drukenmiller, Brian Griese, Ray Lucas, Jay Fiedler, AJ Feeley, Gus Frerrote, Sage Rosenfels............. I mean yikes!

I say let Daunte rehab away until he is 100% and then he can back up the new kid. Beck has all the tools, something that could never be said for the fellows on the partial list above. Time to fish or cut bait........actually I don't have any idea what that means but I like the sound of urgency. Beck needs to be our starter on opening day. I would see that as a much stronger reason for hope, than limping out with another washed up QB.

Beck may start on opening day or Trent Green if we get him. But once Culpepper is 100% I believe that the Dolphins will give him a start to see what happens.

As excited I am to see Beck on the feild I think it would be best if he trains up and doesn't start earlier than he's able to... good things come to those who wait :)

I'd like to see Beck over Green/CPep/Lemon/you-insert-name as our starting QB, since that is why he was drafted in the first place, however....let me say this emphatically: If he's not ready to go Cam, don't start him.

Beck shouldn't start unless he's ready. Coming from a spread offense, he will have a steep learning curve like the kind Alex Smith, Joey Harrington, and others had. And we all remember how those two fared in their first year. Best case for Beck is to hold the clipboard and learn for a few years ala Philip Rivers.

Why keep him waiting, the guy is 26 years old! If he`s good enough to be our starter on opening day, then start him.

no way...this may be the only time i support cleo lemon starting...no need to throw beck to the lions

I will be completely and utterly shocked if Culpepper, is on the roster come opening day. Never mind starting.
Cameron has made it fairly clear that Culpepper doesn't fit in his offense. I think the Dolphins are just waiting for Culpepper to get healthy so they can trade him for whatever they can get.

NO. Get Green and let him start until Beck is ready.

trent green sucks. bad. i watched the replay on nfl network of the last game of the season between the jags and chiefs, and he looked pathetic.

midway through the 2nd half, the chiefs are struggling and jacksonville is gaining momentum. trent scrambles and gets hurt and has to come out for a series. so in comes huard and bam bam bam. 3 plays, 60 yards, TD. trent returns the next series and the first thing he does is throw an INT. what a bum.

this guy was a career nothing until he got behind that probowl chiefs o-line with priest holmes and tony gonzales. now he's 37, has an average arm with average accuracy and can't stay healthy. also, trent doesn't want to be a mentor. if he did, he'd have no problem staying in KC and helping out brody croyle. he wants to start. so what happens 3-4 weeks into this season when trent is sucking *** and the staff decides to make a switch? how will he react?

imo, we traded a 2nd round pick for c-pep, and with the commitment daunte has shown to getting healthy, he deserves another chance. he rushed back last season to play gimpy behind swiss cheese pass protection.

this franchise doesn't need another stop gap QB. give daunte another shot if anything because of our investment in him. if it doesn't work, start beck and start the true rebuilding process. apologize to JT and zach and offer them an out and a chance to play for a real team before they retire.

People always feel they need to write an introductory paragraph on why they are a fan sayin they love Marino and fan since 72 or something similar. Why can't you just write you post, most aren't going to change their opinion.

No. There is clear evidence that letting a quarterback sit for some period of time is advantageous to his development. Rushing Beck would be idiotic, that's the kind of thing that results in your quarterbacks developing bad habits that let them get by, but is something that hinders their ability to develop into an elite player... Look at Joey Harrington or David Carr.

I love your confidense in the guy, I have it too, but even marino didnt start right away, and I think if C-Pep is healthy and plays well, lets beck take itin for a while!!!!
