I mean when ricky william was suspended he had to repay his salary, so why shouldn't Saban? I mean Saban had a contract that he diodn't fulfill so he should have to repay at least some of his salary:dolphins:

Saban's contract didn't include a clause about going back to college. So, no, he's not legally bound to repay his salary.

I wish this liar was bound...........................and gagged!

im pretty sure the remaining years in his contract had to be bought out. im also pretty sure that alabama will foot that bill.

Should he have to? Absolutley. However, he will beable to get the Cash.

What did he make... 9 million in two years? I just hope that Mr H didn't give him a signing bonus.

ricky and judas's contracts were different ricky was given money in bounuses up front for completing the time in his contract so when he abruptly retired he was in breach of contract and has to repay the incentive money he was given. benenick arnolds contract wasnt frontloaded in the same way

There was no buy out in his contract. Coaches contracts usually do include a buyout. But, remember how Saban kept blaming Huizenga for convincing him to leave LSU and go to Miami? Well, as a result, there was no buyout clause in the deal, in case he decides he doesnt like the NFL.

The Saban and Ricky thing is interesting, but different. Ricky Williams was not sued to pay back his salary, he was sued for his signing bonus. The signing bonus is given to a player with the idea that he will fulfill his contract, which Ricky, at the time, had not. Nick Saban and most coaches, generally do not receive signing bonuses.

But the truth of the matter is, Huizenga is cool with Saban leaving because they are chummy. While Ricky Williams, and most other NFL players, are treated like servants.

I agree that I am puzzled by Huzienga's lack of public anger/disappointment with Saban cutting and running. Saban betrayed the Miami Dolphins and Wayne Huizenga far worse than Ricky Williams did. Plus, Ricky Williams did a lot more to help us win than Saban did.
