considering O. Vernon seems to have his starting spot solidified. I would love for the Dolphins to move Dion around 2006 JT style since he can cover and rush the passer.

He'll eventually be a full time DE, but right now he's best suited in somewhat of a Von Miller role but versatile to play a "specialist" role like covering Gronk against New England.

Michael Johnson in Cincy did some similar things early in his career before becomming a full time DE.

Not to sound premature or like a troll . . . but Cam Wake has a very cuttable year in 2015 where he is due a 3 million dollar roster bonus that March. He'll be 33 years old. That's typically the age where guys get cut from their deals due to declining play. If Vernon continues his upticks and Dion Jordan proves he needs to be starting and gains some weight . . . and Wake shows that he's slowing down . . . it could all make sense from a cap standpoint.

Well, I saw Vernon was the guy standing up alot and the one sack he got up the gut was while standing.

I think Coyle's gameplan is to work Jordan more at traditional DE on pass downs and occasionally sprinkle him in at OLB to cover. Vernon is the guy who can actually fit the mold of a true LB with his size.

jordan's arms are getting bigger. Anyone notice? He is in the weight room. Next year will be fun!

Im smellin Jason Taylor days comin. And that Pittsburgh Oline is probly worried but not showing it.

If we make that move, they better find a way for him to rush the passer on 50% of his snaps. He's too good at getting in the backfield to waste him on covering TEs his whole career. I still believe as I believed on draft night...the kid is a little too light to play DE full time. He is the perfect 3-4 edge linebacker.

As much as I like Wake and the way he persevered on his journey to the league, I have to agree he is getting up in age and letting him go in 2015 might be feasible. But if he is productive next season and shows he still has it, I do not want him to be another Trace Armstrong and have a couple more years contributing to another team when he could be helping ours.

word has it he is up to 275. They are wondering whether or not to put more bulk on.

Jason Taylor played his whole career at 245 occasionally getting up to 250. Jason Taylor was great because he had power and a repoitoire of moves both inside and outside. He could read the offense with Zach very well. So IMO, its not about where you think Jordan fits, its more about his developement and right now, the coaches want him to be able to stop the run first. Which is exactly what Jimmy Johnson had to get JT to do in order to get more PT.

.

Word from who? That is a hell of alot of weight gain in season for a guy who was 248 when he got here. That is the type of weight gain you see in the offseason with an offseason work out program in place . . . not in season where these guys are in the florida heat dropping calories every practice.

Oh no doubt, nobody wants to cut Wake if he has a solid 2014 . . . but just putting out there the possibilities if Wake shows signs of slowing down next season (or nagging injuries like this year slowing him down.).

Actually, Jordan showed up for camp in August at 260.

I guarantee our defense would look better with him out there instead of Philip f***ing Wheeler

I could believe a 12 pound weight gain from April to August . . . but an added 15 pounds from camp to now seems unreasonable and not really very healthy and could explain not wanting to place him in the field in more situations as he learns to get adjusted to a weight he's never played at.
