Should the dolphins take a chance on Jaylon Smith. If yes, where in the draft should that chance be taken?

If healthy, obviously Smith is a top 5 pick. I think Smith ends up only able to play 4 or 5 years before his knee degenerates to the point where he can't play anymore. I seriously don't think I would draft Smith until the 6th or 7th rd. That is where his potential outweighs the risk or value of taking him earlier.

Biggest gamble of the draft, IMO. Incredible talent is an understatement, but that injury holds so much mystery ATM.

It will be one of the most interesting stories in the draft. I think some team will take a chance in the 3rd round, but I think maybe the 5th would work for me.

I keep reading comparisons to Lattimore's injury and he was never able to play again. I think that injury may have been more serious, but it was also nerve related damage.

Every person is different and I'd bet on Smith making it back, but maybe never to the same level.

3+ months removed from major surgery and doing this
check the video on his twitter feed...don't know how to post it here

Spent the day in Fort Wayne, Ind., with @thejaylonsmith, who's 3.5 months past knee reconstruction and doing this:

IF my team doctors feel there is a reasonable chance the nerve damage heals I would gamble a 5th rounder on him.

Would gamble a 4th on him myself, if he had to take a year off and only play for 4-5 years he still would probably be worth it.

I think it's 99% a waste of time to Take chances on raw talent or major injury players.

He was my top target in this draft Pre injury, but IMO teams should focus on players that can get on the field. Teams have enough things to deal with, without adding more headaches.

This guy probably would have been our pick this year. Goes to show our luck right now
