Yesterday, we discovered former Chicago Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti landed a job as a columnist for AOL Sports. No small achievement for a pundit Gawker's Hamilton Nolan describes as "easily the most despised columnist in Chicago, if not in America, for his ill-informed opinions, delusions of grandeur, and the undeservedly ****y cut of his jib."

With Monday's introductory column in the books, Mariotti hit the ground running this morning with a scathing criticism of Hall of Fame hoopster Charles Barkley, who was arrested on suspiscion of drunk driving early on New Year's Eve morning in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Completely agree. Even if he had to pay for a cab it would have been a hell of a lot cheaper then getting a DUI.

It's one of those things far to many of us have probably gotten away with at some point but god forbid you cause an accident and seriously injure someone. That would be horrible. You have to just suck it up and get a cab, or bum a ride or something.

That being said, I would always do the opposite of whatever Jay Mariotti says so I say bring back Barkley on TNT and triple his salary. :) I didn't even read the article because I hate the thought of having Mariotti's voice in my head as I'm reading it. How does this guy have a job? Does anybody like him, even a little bit?
