early in games just to get Daunte and everybody in Rhythm early on, I think overall we have moved the Ball so much better when we have gone to the No huddle spread offense, we have even Run the ball well out of this formation. I believe Daunte is slow getting away from Center after the snap, which is causing some of the problems he is having, he seems alot more comfortable in the Shotgun. I think this could be a positive for our Offense.

I don't think we necessarily start in that, but I think it's something you might try in the second half if you haven't been moving the ball effectively in the first half. It could work against us just as easily as it could work for us.....but hey, why not give it a try.

Could be a decent way to start the game. I like the idea of no huddle moreso than the spread offense. Saban/Mularkey would be able to script the entire drive ahead of time and maybe we could start with a quick first drive for an early score a la the Pats when fat boy Weis was still around.

remember when daunte wanted to go in the huddle but he was told from the sidelines to keep going no-huffle? He then started throwing ducks, so let the situation dictate.

yeah we should sign vick jr. from the practice squad and emmulate what the falcons are doing with the shotgun option keeper. that play is absolutely sick and completely unstoppable. oh wait, no, the saints shut it down monday night. ok, scratch that idea...

I think Dante would throw an early pick across the middle. also he has trouble find go through his reads, do you think more recivers is the answer? Nice post tho, Different formations might be the thing that helps DC find his comfort zone

Nice post.

My concern is that after we go to the no huddle for a big pass, we immediately run the ball for no gain. I think if we go to the no huddle, and get a good gain on a pass, throw it again.

I like the thread thiers two ways i look at it......i think we would be better off coming out and pounding the ball and establishing the run game......but yet again ronnie runs his best in the 4th quarter so i think that coming out and getting all our recivers involved would be a great idea...the only problem is MM likes to get away from the run too quick!!

That or he wants to run the ball right after a big pass play.

I mean like when we were down to the bills after ronnie had 70 yards in the first and only got 2 carries in the 2nd half it just angered me!!!!

Yeah, that bugged me too.

But when we throw for a 20 yard gain and go no huddle, we should throw again, not run for no gain.

I think the hurry up has been costly to us. It makes it difficult for Daunte to make pre snap adjustments and he really doesn't have time to communicate with the coaching staff. They need to huddle and get it figured out before they get to the line. Let Daunte make his reads from there with the coaching tip in mind. If you spread it out, you also make pass protection a lot weaker. I would rather see McMike kept in protection a little more giving Chambers the oppertunity to stretch the field vertically. Lastly, spreading it out makes it hardly to consistantly pound Ronnie. I'm not saying we don't do it, I just don't think it's the best idea.

YESSSSS by the way wear has the deep ball ben???
Its wut daunte does best lets let him air some out to CC

I agree that Daunte is getting away from center too slowly and he is just in general not up to speed. I think that we need to establish the run and stick with it. In the process of doing that, yes I think spreading it out and putting him in shotgun is a good idea. You have to keep the defense on their toes and guessing. If they know whats coming, its easier to defend. And with the threat of a solid running game, some pressure should be taken off of Culpepper and that should open up some big plays in the passing game.
