I notice a lot of people (including myself) want to go offense with the first pick Gurley, Parker etc... But do we REALLY NEED an offensive weapon with that first pick? We averaged 24 points a game which was good for 11th best in the league. I remember our offense putting up points against Denver, GB, Detroit etc.... and the Defense not being able to hold leads. Our defense was ranked 21st overall, we play in a division that goes through New England and we'll need to slow that offense to have a chance of winning the division. I know RB, WR is the sexy pick but maybe to take that next step and make the playoffs we would be best served going defense. Thoughts

We would be better off with Danny Shelton. It wouldnt matter who we have at DB while were wreaking havoc on the QB.

Came down to depth in the ladder stretch of the season. Go special and doll that nasty pig up e.g. Suh.

I'm all for taking a defensive player except Trae Waynes, I think he's gonna be a complete bust Jason Allen 2.0

The only thing I could say would be that although they scored 24 points a game, the red zone was a problem(21st) and Parker would certainly help with that. I would like to see a big RB for short yardage and goal line situations. Plus guard is a huge void and one way or another they have to solve it.
As far as going defense in round 1, its not a bad idea and I would not be upset with Johnson, even if they stay at 14. They need a CB, an upgrade at MLB and probably should be looking to the future for FS and DE

I don't think it matters if we go offense or not. The additions of Jennings, Stills and Cameron will make the offense better. Better fits for our offense. Tannehill will beast no matter what we do. The defense needs more work. I'd take a WR later

Take Gurley. Or take Parker. Build a high power offense that can score with anyone and keep the defense off the field. A guy like Gurley helps you do that.

The Red Zone was a problem but I think that will improve it the addition of Jordan Cameron and Jennings. Cameron is a big mismatch and Jennings runs great routes and should be able to get open in close quarters.. unlike Mike Wallace. We could use a big bruising back for short yardage situations but we can find that later in the draft or FA.

I think we tend to lose sight of the actual problems are come draft time because we all want the sexy pick, but I remember watching several games last year thinking WTF is wrong with this defense. Can't get a game winning stop, Ravens and Chiefs RAN ALL OVER US etc.... looking back, with the exception of a couple of games (Chiefs, second Jets game) the offense was pretty good. We've upgraded at several positions already. Hmmmmm BUT I STILL WANT THAT SEXY WR... Man it's tough. I think I'm going wish for Defensive help though.

Wouldn't it be nice to have an offense that can blow up a scoreboard and erase the need for defensive stands in the fourth.

Or Take a CB MLB etc... that helps the defense do that by playing Defense. How much better do you think our offense will be with either of those guys? We scored 35 points against denver and gave up 38. How does a WR or RB help that? Do you think by adding Gurley or Parker that we go from 11th in total points to top 5? Too much has to go right on offense for that to happen. Oline has to block, QB has to play well etc.. I'm not sure Gurly or Parker makes us significantly better on offense. We have some pretty good players now.

I think we should go defense if the right player is there; if not, go offense or trade the pick.
