Should we use more nickel packages?

Our secondary is clearly our defense's weak point.

When we're getting torched by another team's passing game, do you think that using more nickel packages would help?

Going nickel constantly means we are taking a member of the front 7 away, which means one less guy putting pressure on the QB . . . I mean sometimes you gotta play coverage . . . and thats why you go in your nickel and dime packages . . . but u gotta stop the run and put pressure on the QB, and that needs to happen in your base defense.

If anything, I think maybe we should blitz a little more . . . I don't wanna play coverage against most of the QB's in the league, because most of them with time will pick apart our secondary.

We don't have enough DBs for a 3-4 I'd say maybe a 4-4 but then you would need 3 very good DBs

Yeah, that's another thing. We probably want LBs Matt Roth and Joey Porter spending more time rushing the passer than sitting back in coverage. So on passing plays, we should probably regularly have 5 guys rushing the passer.

Well, hopefully Sparano and the coaches will figure out a way to patch up our weak secondary.
