According to the Herald, Joe, Wayne, and Brian could have a few "football" guys sitting at the table with them as they sit down and talk to their short list of "5 candidates"

At that point, they might include people such as Don Shula, Marino and perhaps GM Randy Mueller in the process so the conversations can become more football-intensive.
I love the Dolphins, and Wayne's respect for the history of this franchise. Do you think this is a good idea?

:smackhead MODS: Could someone add a "to" between "Marino" and "be" to my thread title?
Thank you Modonymous.

Getting more opinions from those with football minds when looking for a new HC is always helpful. If they do it, then obviously it is a good move.

sure, why not? I mean, I know that I would personally value those guys opinions alot, I'm pleased and not surprised that our owner does. I think it's great...

I hope they have some "football" people involved. I wouldn't want the decision to be made by Huizenga and other team executives who know nothing about football. Bringing in Mueller, Shula, and Marino makes sense.

Yes, I see our ship turning around (better thought out decisions are being made). The suspense is killing me...I will be interesting to hear the new HC press conference on what type of coach and game plan he wants to bring in. And to see how he respects our history and are soon to be legends on the field.

Well this could be good or bad depending on wether it's true that Marino recommended Fassell and Lewis  Two heads are better than one though!

I like the idea. They know what they're talking about when it comes to football, and their opinions should be valued.

they have the football knowledge that Wayne doesnt...how could this NOT be a good idea?

Since many around here criticized Huizenga's plea for suggestions, and Taylor and Thomas's pleas for Jim Bates, I thought more might object to their involvement. I'm glad I was wrong.

I thought it was interesting that Mueller "might" be involved as well.

Great idea, what better way to bring this franchise back to its glory days then the people who took them there.

It's a great idea. I posted in two or three threads a few days ago that we should have Shula and Dan involved in the interview process. Maybe Wayne's reading the board and getting some ideas.

Now if they'll do the right thing and hire Singletary we'll be on our way.
