si article-ginn gets some love

I thought it was well written. Ginn, this season has made me stop in my tracks and, re consider. He's shown lots of downside and, lots of upside. His hands are MUCH better than Chambers and, I'm starting to see him stepping up as a clutch WR for Chad.

That Flea Flicker was one of the best Dolphins plays I've ever seen.

gins the man. I actually do dissargee with the part in this article where one recievers coach says he will not be a 90-100 type catch guy. He will.. see steve smith who has the same build and speed.

Ted Ginn and Steve Smith do not have the same build. Ginn is a slim 5'11" 180 pounder whereas Smith is a stocky 5'9" 190.

After his first two seasons, I doubt anyone thought Steve Smith would be a 90-100 type catch guy either.

I've always believed in ginn, i know some people thought we should draft him but I never took it seriously.. never heard much about him and didnt bother to look him up.. I was looking for us to draft brady quinn, it was unbelievable how things lined up to where quinn was still on the board. Though after we drafted him I looked at his highlight video and was astonished... I see parts of him starting to breakout and all we need to do is put it in his hands. I believed in his hands but that flea flicker was absolutely ridiculous, what an amazing display of catching ability....

exactly and he started off returning kicks as well.
the difference is since ginns play vs buffalo he gained confidence more emotions and knew he could do what he did in Ohio St.

watch teh reverse vs the raiders, it was a clone of how he woudl play in Ohio. from how he ran, the way his body language was and he acceled. it was liek back in the days where he knew he was going to score and mind you he went heads up with ASOMUGHA and toasted him.

I'm not sure what you mean by he's shown lots of downside. He's still developing as a player. I guess his downside is playing like a rookie wide receiver like he did last year?

Downside as in scampering OOB on a third down play to avoid contact, and, later when all he needed to do was stop and, drop to run clock, but, ran OOB again. You chalk it up to developeing...That's football 101 to me. Maybe Ted Ginn did not have the High School coaching I did...I mean..A small 2A school on the coast of North Carolina is certainly a hotbed of football and all, so, I know I may posess eleite knowledge, BUT I know that if you need to run the clock late, you don't run out of bounds.

I am not sure their is that much difference in the 10 pds.. but your right steve smith is a little stockier and he really didnt break out until his third year. If Ginn keeps making jumps in his skills like he is doing now from his first to second year, I cannot wait to see him next year. I hope he spends loads of time lifting the weights in the offseason so no one can jam him at the line. If he does that and keeps working on his routes, I don't see why he cant be a 90 catch guy next year.

Goon, get over it. It happened early in the season. He's improved, gotten more confidence & as a result, starting to play up to his potential.

Everyone at some stage tries to avoid contact & runs OOB. It's not career defining issue.

Pfft....Dude...I'm over it. I was challenged to quantify what I meant by what I said and, I met the challenge. I was very even and, actually positive in my treatment of Ginn in my post...BUT if you are going to ask me to skip over his bad plays then, I have to skip over his good plays too, don't I?

I don't think those things represent his downside. I think they will represent his past.

Exactly

When you are critiquing a player you wouldn't say his downside is "He runs OOB occasionally instead of taking a hit to gain a yard or two"

Downsides would be his hands, or his route running, or his ability to digest the playbook.. what you have a problem with happened a while back, not reoccurring week to week, and doesn't really effect his play.

Im not saying you shouldn't have an issue with it, but I do not think that it should be something considered as a downside with all things considered.
