Looking back at all the picks we had and then the stars we acquired thru trades, it’s almost unbelievable we haven’t won a playoff game.

Yea.... if only someone knew how important a good oline is.

Come On Please GIF by NBA

Yep we had control of that entire 2021 draft non qb position wise at pick 3 and we failed to take advantage. In maybe the best non qb difference maker position draft with future hall of famers all over it in the last 20 years.

Swing and a miss. Didn’t even get one. 🤦‍♂️

Grier made too many bad decisions in the draft and Free Agency.

He didn't really hit on many impact players.

Then trading high draft capital for older players hasn't helped.

Ross also stripped us of a 1st and a 3rd.

The rebuild has been a total failure in my opinion, especially considering what position we were in 5 years ago with all the draft capital and cap space we had.

The rebuild basically reached its apex on Christmas Eve 2023 when we beat the Cowboys.

Ever since then we have been moving backwards.

Yes the the lost 1st and 3rd due to Beal is forgotten about. That could’ve changed everything

Didnt read the article but it made me go back and look at Draft results just for the hell of it. Look at the results for 2020 and 2021 Drafts...absolutely wild what they COULD have done without going back to look at needs and all the other variables happening at the time. Just play the "who could we have picked game," and its mind boggling what the Dolphins could look like today....

2020 Dolphins "Re-Draft"
1.5 - Justin Herbert (I like Tua more honestly but I think you take Herbert strictly because he is more available and hope we get to that ceiling and his balls drop)
1.18 - Justin Jefferson
1.30 - Jonathan Taylor....(Tee Higgins, Deandre Swift, Michael Pittman, and Xavier McKinney all available too)
2.39 - Antoine Winfield Jr
2.56 - Logan Wilson/Kristian Fulton/Jeremy Chinn
3.70 - Justin Madubuike

2021 Dolphins "Re-Draft"
**Made Two Trades - Moved down from 1.3 to 1.12 - Then moved up from 1.12 to 1.6
Lets say they just moved down from 1.3 to 1.12 and stayed there

1.12 - Micah Parsons
1.18 - Christian Darrisaw/Jaelan Phillips
2.36 - Landon Dickerson/Christian Barmore
2.42 - Trevon Moehrig
3.81 - Nico Collins/Quinn Meinerz

I say it EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR..... It matters some, but not as much as people make it out to be, and Im talking about GM's too, but stop giving a **** about value and just take good players. Its not where you pick, its WHO you pick. Dont overthink things...if the consensus know a dude's going to be good, take em

The Lions probably had my favorite draft of all time...they took the most obvious guys and they didnt care where they took them
1.12 - Jahmyr Gibbs
1.18 - Jack Campbell
2.34 - Sam Laporta
2.45 - Brian Branch
3.68 - Hendon Hooker

In my eyes, that's absolutely awesome. I remember reading people giving them bad draft grades and saying "if you took Branch at 18 and Campbell at 34 and Laporta at 45, you'd get a better grade.." and just thinking afterwards how stupid that is. Just take good players...it sounds sooo simple but teams and people tend to over complicate it ALL THE TIME

I too loved that lions draft. To me, it’s not about who we didn’t pick. We picked really good players but they are not on our team anymore mostly

I was particularly infatuated with Campbell that year and also thought Hooker would be a useful asset one way or the other. The Lions sort of had the draft I wanted for the Fins.

So many 'if's'. IF the draft had been better. IF the OL had above average players. IF TT hadn't been injured. If Mcd hadn't been OC. So many if's - any one of which could have likely gotten Miami a playoff win. A hx of self-inflicted wounds.

I'm a Waddle fan but Sewell would have been the best pick of that 2021 draft. Could have been worse though, Zach Wilson and Trey Lance went 2-3

Not bad at all, but I'm taking Creed Humphrey instead of Moehrig.
