SI - Ranking the Dolphins off season moves

When you go down the list item by item, it's pretty impressive. If this isn't an "A" graded offseason, I don't know what is.

I know ppl often lament how winning the offseason is meaningless, and that is true to an extent, but you have to applaud the plan.

Overall we have had a brilliant Off season. We should be a much better team than last year.

The only move that mystifies me is the resigning of Preston Williams. I know some on here like him but I just don't see the production that makes that move justified. When healthy he suffers from the drops. My biggest issue is those drops seem to always be critical ones - easy TD's or 3rd down conversions. I would prefer to see Ford take his place if I am honest.

Surprised to see Wilson signing so low maybe it’s not as important with tyreek but I though we got him for a steal. He’s a number 2 wideout that’s was buried by a very talented Dallas wideout core last year and still put up solid numbers being 4th in depth chart

If you watch last years tape, his win rate on run blocking is very high for a WR. You need good blocking WRs on stretch plays.

Hoping the signing Bridgewater turns out to be the least significant transaction.
I'm hoping Bridgewater can remain professional the entire year if not used in a game.

It's pretty obvious to me. Teddy believes his signing behind Tua means he eventually is starting for Miami.

Getting Bridgewater to backup Tua is an awesome hiring, but it comes with it's possible drama. Ted will probably be gone next year if Tua stays healthy, and plays as I know he can.

Big props to Grier and the Front Office for orchestrating these moves!

But when it comes to the most important off-season moves, mega kudos to Grier AND Ross for replacing Florat™ with Mike McDaniel!
Imagine another offseason of Tua rumors being leaked by Flores?

Thank god none of us have to.

Tua has missed games both years already. Teddy wants an opportunity to start and showcase himself. He doesn’t owe it to Tua’s feelings to declare him the unabashed started.

Tua is not afraid of competition from his time at Bama. He took Hurt’s job from him in the national championship game & forced a transfer. He also had Mac Jones that took over after his hip injury and led the to a championship the next year, while watching Waddle & Smith say they preferred Jones at QB.

National media and fans are soft. Tua is not. I don’t think Teddy got into Tua’s feelings at all about not calling himself a backup.

Not a big worry to me if Tua plays well. TB doesn't have the credibility among players to instigate a locker room split if Tua isn't providing the spark by playing poorly. If he is stinking up the place, why not give Teddy a shot?

Unless you are more emotionally invested in Tua than winning football games, what's the problem here?

I agree that if Tua falters, Teddy has every expectation of starting and reinvigorating his career.

However, given that, I'm concerned about HIS ego, not Tua's!

All he had to do was take the corporate line that he's there to do whatever is necessary as the backup including mentoring Tua but ready and willing to step in if needed. What would have been so difficult about that declaration?

Now I'm concerned he may be hindering Tua more than helping him given his refusal to do anything other than infer "this is what I was told about me being the starter."

Lost a lot of respect for him based on that interview.

Maybe he was told not to engage in that discussion with reporters. Maybe it was done purposely to light a fire of competition under Tua. Maybe he was told he would get a fair and legit shot to win the starting job in camp, whether that is actually true or not.

I would have to assume those conversations took place before his signing. Perhaps he is bitter that nobody in the league would make that commitment to him, and he has buyer's remorse.

I have no idea, but it did come off as....... odd.
