I know he is getting up there in age but he would be a good insurance policy behind Ajayi. I know running back is not our greatest priority, but you really cannot have enough good running backs. I also don't think Drake can handle the load if he is called on - he has a knack for getting injured. I also do not see Damien Williams as a capable replacement either.

I think they want to see if Storm can fill that role.
 
Nope....I think Drake is going to turn some heads this year...I don't think Williams has enough left for a valued replacement for any of our backs....
 
You have to let the young guys progress, signing vets will only ensure that they will never be ready. I think the running game would be fine if something happened to Jay. The combo of D. Williams and Drake would suffice.

Well I could see the possible argument for one more back - more of the pounding type like Jay which may or may not be Storm.

Looks like Drake may miss a few weeks. I would feel more comfortable if we had that 4th back - mainly because of injuries.
 
Deangelo had a great 2015 but seemed to drop off when he was needed in 2016. His ypc dropped from 4.5 to 3.5. it appears a lot of GM's saw something missing which is probably why he is still unsigned. He was 33 years old so it happens.
 
while I think he could add some veteran depth to a very young position, we have other concerns like O line and CB now with Lipett gone...I think we are fine with ajayi drake williams and johnson anyway
