Signing our own Free agents - article

good find, i would like to see us up bell and carey. he made a great point in the article that we dont have to go spend rediculous amounts of money on a jordan gross when we have a decent RT already who will probably sign for much less then gross.

I still think crowder will sign elsewhere since other teams need ILB help. he will ask too much from miami, and we can snag a healthy young james lauranitis in the draft for the same amount of money. staying young at positions will help. crowder is good, but his contract demands will be too much for us to swallow

blah lauranitis in the 3-4 . . . . I hope not, I'm not liking that idea. Give me Spikes or Maulaluga. Lauranitis is better suited for the 4-3.

Carey is over rated, and will want large coin, let him go!

Overrated? He was good at LT last year, and honestly he was a pretty good RT this year . . . he struggled a bit more than u like, especially transferring to what is supposed to be the "easier" side . . . but I wouldn't say he is overrated . . . overrated by who? Yea he isn't a guy that should command top LT money . . . but he is a guy who I personally consider one of the better RT's in this league and has been solid for the Dolphins for 5 years. He won't break the bank like a Jordan Gross would . . . and he is a great community guy and a hometown player.

Gives us a solid RT for the next several years if we resign him . . . and a solid LT backup.

Agreed. But I dont see those boys falling down to 26th mind you.

Chargers, Broncos, Lions, Saints and even the Jets (maybe) will all be on the look out for an ILB.

We definitely need to resign Goodman and Carey. I'm also on the Crowder bandwagon, but I'm not sure if the Trifecta is. I'm on the Bell bandwagon but honestly Yeremiah hasn't made the big plays you would like to extend a guy who has a history of being injured every other year . . . and he is over 30. He definitely is a leader on defense but I'm just thinking out loud right now. I think he was extremely critical on defense this year and I would love him back but I guess we will see.

Hill, I mean I don't think anybody is going to offer him the FS starting role . . . I could be wrong . . . so I would bring him back for quality depth at the right price. He probably also enters the season as a starter here if anything, he probably stays.

I'm thinking the Chargers may go after Rey . . . Rey is a 3-4 ILB, if he slips by them he could make it to us, but he would have to get by New England also . . . they probably want to team up a guy like Rey with Mayo.

Spikes . . . I mean he hasn't declared yet, but I'm guessing he will. I mean its questionable . . . if both are gone . . . I still wouldn't grab Laurinitis, I would have to wait until later in the draft to address ILB.

Plus a guy like William Moore could drop to us . . . perfect for FS. Raji as a NT . . . we will have guys there.
