[silva] No Nfl Team Has Fewer High-value Assets Than Dolphins

And Fins would be the worst team in the league according to the experts

There is plenty to work with an adequate OL & DL and competent OC and gameplan
Yes there are definite holes but I take Fins WR over the Patsies everyday of the week

Talents include
Drake
Jones
Wilson
grant
Stills
I still think Tankersly has a place if healthy
Ballage
maybe Giseki again...with a competent OC

Lots of holes but definitely some playmakers

I don't understand the wholesome hate for Grier

Do you guys actually hate Grier? Or is it that you just wanted someone fresh into the organization? Before this all happened a lot of us agreed Grier was the only one worth a damn

An Elliot Wolf would have been nice but I just don't get why there's so much angst against him

They have Dark Place Charles.

Should be able to pry a 1st round pick out of Mayock and the Raiders.

Seemed like his skillset was making some amazing catches and scoring TD's, in a poor excuse of an offense. also averaging almost 15ypc.

Yeah. He's a deep ball specialist, and a damn good one. I do wonder if he could do more in the middle of the field, but Gase apparently decided that throwing the football between the hashes was verboten. Mostly asked Kenny to block on screens (lol) when he wasn't going deep.

Yea, and even compared to a team like the Bills that kicked our a**, they don't have the talent on paper we do at most positions.

It's just our interior oline and dline that's a problem, which is a huge problem, but our back 7, receiving corps and HB/TE positions have great potential.

Evan Silva is a POS...but he's not wrong.

X Howard 2nd round pick 1st round in trade
Laremy tunsil 1st round pick 1st round in trade
Minkah Fitzpatrick 1st round pick 1st round in trade
Charles harris 1st round pick 5th round and dropping in trade at best
Raekwon mcmillan 2nd round pick 3rd round in trade
Cordrea tankersley 3rd round pick no value in trade
Mike gesicki 2nd round pick 5th round and dropping in trade at best
Jerome baker 3rd round pick 3rd round in trade
Vincent Taylor 4th or 5th round pick 3rd round pick in trade
Davon godchaux 4th or 5th round pick 3rd round pick in trade maybe 4th
Kalen ballage 4th round pick maybe 4th round return
Jakeem Grant 7th round or udfa pick up maybe 5th round pick in trade. Seems generous.

Asset current values id say. Not many others would get you anything cause of either their contract in return or they just aren’t trade assets

I've actually been trying to figure our what all this "rebuild" talk actually means. As much as it seems to be pitched here I don't believe it's "try to lose". here is what i'm thinking it means.

Defense 2019
Howard, Minkah, Raekwon, Baker, Godchaux, Taylor, Harris (cheap 1st round pick who likely won't amount to anything but will likely get another year). A decision will be made on everyone else one way or another and we will fill in with young players. The DE room needs to be rebuilt and IMO we need a DT better than the ones we have.

Offense 2019
Tunsil, James (decision), Davis (maybe if there is still perceived upside), Gesicki (2nd year player), Wilson, Drake, Grant, Dola (vet in group with one more year under contract).

Everybody else gets evaluated and potentially replaced with younger players? Does that sound about right or are we even taking trading what good players we have. just trying to get my finger on what's going on here.

The more I think about this the more depressed about the team I feel. Another no name coach, a seemingly bigger no name than Adam Gase with a rebuild? This seems like years and years away from competiveness with little optimism we'll get there in the first place.

Well depends on your definition of high value asset... I view it as players at critical positions with such talent and potential that can rarely be found in FA or even in the first round of the draft.
