"They blocked us, there's no mystery in that," Wannstedt said. "I didn't do a good enough job of getting these guys ready - they must have been reading the newspapers too much and that's my fault. We've got to get better - if you can't stop the run, you've got no chance to win no matter the level and we've got to get that done. We wanted to blitz them, but we could never get them to third down."

this is from foxsports.com and it seems that Dave is still Dave and still hasn't found a clue

:rofl3:  :D

thank (insert your deity here) that Coach Saban has landed with us

as a long time season ticket holder who lives and dies with the Fins, I am looking so forward to the new product we will display. Even sans a QB who is 'quality' (please, Gus and Sage, make us somewhat proud this year), we will be dramatically different. Linehan will have us all smiling from time to time. The defense will be aggressive and attacking, rather than base and reacting. WR and RB appear to be solid for the next few years. Huson will get the OL to do the job - or Nick will can their butts and get guys who will.

Our stay at the bottom of this league will be brief. Two years from now, we will be a perennial top shelf, SB contender. I am happy to sit back and enjoy the games and watch this train pull out of the station slowly, yet become the unstoppable force we all hope for.

Great post! I agree with you 100%. I am so very happy that Wanny is gone and that Nick is here. I am willing to go through growing pains as long as we are on the right track. I have full faith that Nick will make us a contender year after year. I hope the place is rockin' vs Denver. I'll be there and I'll be loud!

Why are we discussing anything pertaining to Wanny???...

We've got Saban now. Time to move on, and let Dave do his thing in college. Dave was a great guy, just a horrible coach. There's no use in kicking him while he's down, and I think we all covered that stage months ago. Leave him be, and let's move forward with who we have shall we???....

PHINZ RULE!!!

do you find it funny that he leaves the NFL and NE still finds a way to kick his @$$. cuz i think it is hilarious

I agree with that. Thought that was the funniest part of Saturday's games.. First time I can remember cheering for a Weis team.

Who are the Lacuna Legions if I may ask? You seem to be a big fan of them but I'm sorry to say I've never heard of them. Just curious. BTW, that chick is quite hot!

I agree. Dave was a good guy and we are all glad he is gone but he does not deserve to be put down now. I wish him luck and was disappointed his team did not play better yesterday especially to N.D.

I found "insert your diety here" funnier than anything else, that was very funny.
Now to stay on topic, I only caught the first five minutes of the game and when Tyler Palko threw that beauty to the endzone for a TD, I thought "Wow, maybe Wanny can coach college better than he did the pro's." I guess not, too early to tell.

At least he took the blame upon himself. Very standup act.

Yes but after a decade of taking blame upon himself as a Head Coach, that "act" is old.

Just give poor wanny a break

He has been given a break. He was given a Playoff contender in the Miami Dolphins. Now he is given a 14th ranked team.

How many breaks does he need?

Somebody give Walt Harris a break........

That has never been a problem. Everyone sas he is a "good"/nice guy, but just a terrible coach.
