There also are rumblings that receiver Mike Sims-Walker could be available, too.

Sims-Walker is regarded as an up-and-comer. A third-round pick in 2007, he flashed promise in 2008 with a 107-yard game. But injuries then limited his effectiveness the rest of the season.

This year, he has generated 278 receiving yards and three scores in three starts. But his surprise deactivation last week might have landed him in a doghouse from which he'll have a hard time emerging.

The Ravens and Dolphins are widely believed to be looking for help at receiver. It's unknown whether either team has spoken to the Jags about Sims-Walker.

It could be that the Jags are willing to move him if someone will pay a premium based on his perceived potential. It's also possible that the Jaguars are trying to ensure that Sims-Walker has gotten the message regarding his "violation of team itinerary," which reportedly was fancy talk for hooking up.

Interesting! I know we also loved Groves coming out, but with I see WR as our number 1 need.

I don't see us trading for "potential." We've got a fair amount of potential in the WR corps with Ginn, Hartline, and Turner. Next move for WR (whenever it is) has to be for impact.

Walker is potential and is for real, big target and good speed. Would be a great trade

Walker has 280 receiving yards and 3 TD's playing in just 4 total games played (3 starts). That's nice when you consider who their QB is.

He's a big target too. hmm. I have to watch him play because I haven't really caught Jax games this year.

We took another Quentin draft castoff in Quentin Moses.

What's Quentin's problem on the field ? I don't care that he missed the plane to seattle. The guy was in a CAR ACCIDENT !

But why is he their 3rd stringer ? Is he weak ? Needs to get stronger ? Having problems against the run ? Can't rush the passer ? Attitude problems ?

What's his deal on the field ?

As a UCF grad, I love Mike Walker, he's got great size and solid hands. he's been injured the last 2 years, so it's good ot see him tearing it up now

i would be very suprised if they traded mike walker now tho.. for one his trade value is low, he hasn't really done anything in the NFL yet..
but mostly, he's garrards top WR target.. Torry Holt works as a solid no.2 and actually gives them a chance.. they got owned in seattle, and a large part of that was because sims walker was out of the game.

hell of a player.. but he's not even worth a 2nd round pick. I'd do it for a 3rd and a 6th. or maybe one of our players and a 5th.. what about a camarillo roth for walker? that might be too much, as much as i love our WR's someones gotta go, and i don't think they can package in Pturner, it would have to be a Bess/Ginn/Cama/Hart kinda player

I would like him here too but not for to much....what about a conditional pick

Up and comer with size, speed, and hands on a team with virtually no other recieving options is on the trading block...and a late scratch after unspecified rules violations?

Red flag.

The guy has started the season very well and looks damn impressive. Only thing is, the Jags hasn't come up against a top D or a team with a strong secondary, so don't really know how good he is against the best in the business.

interesting.. its a definite improvement and wouldnt cost us too much.. obviously id rather Bowe but this could make for a great trade... the only question i have is would this solve our #1 WR problem?

Another problem child... WE GOT TO HAVE HIM Trade Ginn, Crowder, Roth and picks.

Sorry for the rant but this ridiculous, every player that wears out his welcome at the current team making himself expendable becomes the 'hot' commodity for this team..... who prefers to build through the draft, players that love the GAME, not so much the extras that come with being an NFL player. The current crop of receivers are not pro bowl ready (yet) and may never be, but I see our draft picks used wisely and prudently to build a winner ( ask the F****** Jests what they think). Remember just 3 years ago we had less than 10% of players on our roster that were NFL players. Please STOP all this trade for the 'flavor of the week' player of dis-favor.

By the way, trading for a player now does us no good since it will take the rest of the season for him to learn our offense. TS and co. will not let players who have been through a training camp and don't have our O down cold on the field, much less a 'newbie'. Think about it, why trade for a guy to sit?
