Since 1980- 0 HOF players after 2nd round

I was just looking at draft history and realized every hall of famer drafted since 1980 was taken in the 1st or 2nd round. And only 1 3rd rounder since 1977 (Montana). This is why we need a 2nd rounder from the Chiefs.:D
 
How many HOF'ers are there since 1980? Marino is just going in now. I think thats a tad pre-mature.

True - how many hall of famers come out of ANY draft? How many HOF's in the top ten picks as a percentage? Not very many.

But, good players can be had - as Brady, Zach, Taylor (round 3) testify. Taylor and Thomas are arguably (throw Surtain into the mix) the two best defenders we've had for the past decade. One was a 3rd rounder the other a 5th.

And, look at Dallas great OL - most of those guys were mid to late round picks.

These stats are skewed a bit.
