if we don't sign lavar, nick will spend that money elsewhere. what do you think his plan B is?

I think we will see a big DT to spell Trayor after we either get LA or decide were not going to get him.

There really isn't much else out there. I don't think Saban is going to spend money just for the sake of spending it.

why do you think Saban will max the cap? I remember Saban saying that he wants to build a team to be competitive year after year. If you max the cap you could strap the team for the next couple of years. I don't see us getting Lavar Arrington, and all of his signings this offseason have been very affordable players that fit his system. With that being said I see a few guys going off the books next year including Traylor, Holliday, Bowens, and Zgnonia (If he's not released this year). One big one could be Zach Thomas, but we'll see next year.

i think if we miss out on arrington then we sign a backup qb like maddox and are done until june first.

I'm sure he also wants to have some money under the cap for the June 1 cuts. you can pick up some pretty good players then if you have the cap space.

because he wants to compete for a superbowl this year and cap room doesn't win games.

i think DT is the next player on our team along with a back up QB. Adams i eblieve will be a fin. no one is interested in him and he wants to come here so may work out but surprised with the level of interest in him from toehr teams.

and they are talking SB this year b/c its in miami so it shoudl win out a lot of fans, tickets, money, and respect and homefield advantage. many many reasons why it will help us finanically and winning fans back.

If Nick doesn't max the cap out on free agents, he can bump money from future years into this year by reworking contracts or use Andy Reid's "likely to be earned bonus" loophole to shunt that money into next year's cap.

Will the Phins be releasing anyone for the June 1st cuts.
