Since we now have a significant stockpile of draft picks, does it make that much difference if we start winning a few gamws?

No, its not obvious at all.

Every season in the NFL is about winning for every team. How much did they win, not how often did they lose, is always the question.

When teams decide that need to restructure their players and coaching staffs, the final measurement of their success is, how well did you do; how many wins did you get.

This question may get tempered with recognition of the difficulties that can befall a team, such as losing a key player or maybe even a mid-season hurricane, but the question as to how well a team did is first and foremost, how many games did you win?
You should wake up to the reality of what has been taking place since March 2019

Since we currently are loaded, and I do mean loaded, with early round draft picks; why should we worry about winning a few games and getting better as the season progresses?

I would like to see some positive results from the coaching staff with the players we have. If they can prevail in a few games with what we have on the field now, we should be dramatically better with the effects of the next two drafts. If the coaching can't do something, and I mean a little bit better and more consistent then the first 6 games we play this season, then there is no reason to suppose they will do that much better with our upcoming draftees.

On the other hand, those hoping we fail as much as possible to ensure the earliest picks possible, also seem to be the ones complaining that we never draft well any way. If our drafting is always such an overwhelming failure, how will more or earlier draft picks fix that? When we see the averages of an early draft pick living up to their anticipated performance in the NFL are around 50%, that makes the chances of getting a lot better in a hurry very remote.

What we need to see the most this year is the development of our new coaching staff into an effective unit. This will be the engine that will drive the Dolphins to success more then the "heroics" of any individual player. Have we forgotten this is the ultimate TEAM SPORT?
Those who root for us to lose work a very simplistic football mind in which the QB is the final solution to all our problems and we will be instantly great. They have very little understanding of what Grier and Flores want to accomplish and what their vision is.
While Flores and Co would like to win a game here and there this season it is mainly about finding a supporting cast for the future - players who are versatile, interchangeable and buy into the system and ideas Flores and Co are trying to build and instill.
Rosen's evaluation falls into the same category. We could lose every game and still not pick a QB if Flores and Co feel like that Rosen could be the guy in the future. As a matter of fact the irony is that we could win 6 games and Rosen may not be the guy but we could also lose all of our games and Rosen could be our guy. Any evalution of any player this year is done on an individual basis and is done independent on wins or losses.

This is a season where any Dolphins fan should relax and enjoy a season of evaluation without any pressure. In fact we are in a great position to find our franchise QB. We have a possible franchise QB on our roster and if not we have the 2020 draft and if not we have the 2021 draft.

Rooting against the Dolphins is a rather selfish act to satisfy a man crush or just hopping along on a name train (popular guy train). I personally do not care what the name of our future franchise QB is: Rosen, Tua, Herbert, Fromm, Pee Wee Herrman. Who gives a ****. If he is a franchise QB, he is a franchise QB. I do prefer Rosen to become a franchise QB because it would shorten our rebuild by a year because the pick we might use on a QB could be turned into ransom and we could easily double our picks. But I am also not 'married' to Rosen and if he does not turn out to be "the one" we simply take a shot in the draft. Instead of selling myself out to one guy and one outcome I keep my options open and enjoy this season. But to each his own.

The one thing I know is that in the future I will enjoy our success much more because I kept my options open while those who 'married' themselves to one name will have a hard time to backpedal if another QB will be our franchise QB. Awkwardness is preprogrammed.

Herrman could cause some locker room issues. I know I would not want his hands near my junk if I was the center. Otherwise, great post.

Now That's and honest and reasonable response... can you, I don't know... maybe drag some of the Tua cultists back to reality.
What actually makes you a Tua cultist? I fully want us to get the #1 pick and to draft Tua since we need a qb and he currently is the top dog, but I'm not going be surprised if he doesn't work out. I've mentioned this a few times, but in the last 10 draft, 8 qb's have been picked #1 and only 1 (Luck) has really lived up to it. That being said, if you need a qb which it appears we do (although I'm still not writing Rosen off) and you have the #1 pick, you absolutely take Tua.

Fans are zero sum. You’re either with us or against us. They can’t fathom that you can hope for Rosen to succeed and also be excited for Tua. They think being excited for Tua means you want Rosen to fail, for some reason I can’t understand. Most of us would be ecstatic if Rosen turned into Tua and we could use that pick on something else. I mean, he has shown us nothing to think that’ll ever happen, but it would be amazing if it did. Since that isn’t happening, we look forward to possibly having our own Drew Brees.

That is steep coming from you.
There’s nothing that Rosen can show me that changes my mind on Tua. And if we pass on Tua for Rosen, this team is too far gone for redemption.

If we win enough games to draft 7th, it will be pretty obvious that Rosen IS our QB. How can you miss seeing this?

This makes 0 sense so whatever few games we could possibly win falls entirely on Rosen? What if the defense allows 7 points vs the Redskins was that due to Rosen? What if Drake bust a few long TD runs and we beat the Jets off of the strength of the ground game? What if the defense gets a few pick 6's vs the Bills since Josh Allen is a turnover machine. If we win enough games to draft 7th it could just mean the team as a whole is playing better than what we've seen the 1st 4 games. In some places if the entire team performs well and improves week to week they call that good coaching.

Stockholm syndrome. I 100% believe this fanbase has it.
Helsinki Syndrome?
n. A psychological syndrome in which a person being held captive begins to identify with and grow sympathetic to his or her captor, simultaneously becoming unsympathetic towards the police or other authorities. [After Stockholmwhere a hostage in a 1973 bank robbery became romantically attached to one of her captors.]

Ironic Locke  Aren't you the guy who recently declared that if you were a GM, you wouldn't even take uber talent Nick Bosa in the 3rd round (because he has the audacity to have different opinions than yours?) Is this not a manifestation of Stockholm/Helsinki Syndrome?
