I'm a bit curious as to what some people might be saying had we won that game. It was really one play that really killed us. There were a few plays that hurt us, but one play killed us. In the 4th quarter, our fins winning 16-15. Our beloved Reggie Howard was marking Tim Dwight. Well had he been playing 110% as he should have been he would have laid out for that ball. made sure Dwight couldn't get his hands on it. However he went half heartedly and the guy who wanted it more won. He really didn't even have to lay out. Lets be real. Had he swatted that ball away so no one could catch it I can all but guarnatee that some fin fans would be signing a different tune.

Edit: Also, I think Linehan defintely was calling the right plays to put us in a position to win that game. Gus had 360 yards passing. How many balls were dropped. I think some of you are too quick to put the blame on people other then the players for example:

Mare: Missed field goal
McMike: fumble in field goal range + a couple dropped passes.
Chambers: a few dropped passes that should have been cought.

I don't recall the part where it's Linehan's fault if those mistakes are made. Linehan put us in a position to win that game and our players didn't seize the moment. Brady on the other hand did and our sorry *** CB Reggie Howard couldn't come up with a simple play. It's not like he wasn't there, he just didn't want it more then Dwight.

if you had won, i would be saying thankyou.

if the Fins had won, im sure there would be talk of playoffs and how great your HC and OC are and how brown is awsome.... people predicting a 9, 10, or 11 win season.

but little has changed. the fins still have a shot at taking the division. same goes for the Pats and Bills. anything can happen. and with the pats defensive problems its save to say they wont win that many more games. and the bills upcomming schedule makes me want to cry, so they might also not win that many more games.

I understand what you are saying, but in general, our coaches put us in a position to win that game. Some of our players didn't come through though. Congrats to the bills by the way. I don't like seeing them win, but when credit is deserved credit is given in my book.

The play that killed us was McMike's fumble. From that point forward the outcome of the game was predictable.

Yup it is never just one play. It's a bunch of little mistakes that just pile on top of each other.

Exactly.

Howards play definitely wasn't it. When someone sucks that bad it isn't a far thought to think something bad from him is coming.

Well those plays hurt, but at the end of the day, we were still ahead when those plays happend. Had Howard been playing a little harder the pats would have been 2nd and 10 on their own 23 yrd line. so like I said. those plays hurt. But the play that killed us was that big fiftysome odd yard pass to dwight.

NO, IT WASN"T And although Howard does suck, you are just casually finding him to appoint the blame to.

How about JT not knowing how to cover his man on Watson's first TD? He let him go and wasn't suppose to, as you could tell by Schulters recting to him opening in a matter of "WTF, I can't get over there now!!"

Can you imagine- Bruschi doesn't layout and Welker scores. McMike doesn't do his usual and we score. It would have been 21-0 at the half!!

The Refs don't make it obvious and call that on Daniels, we win. Chambers doesn't choke, we win. We don't call 2 consecutive pass plays into the sun, we win. We run the ball inside the 5, to also run clock and we win.

I mean we had every opportunity to win that game. But we didn't. It does say that Saban is clearly getting the ship righted because we had what 3 games now we could have won this season. Those will be wins next year fellows. Hopefully Saban can still get us into a winning mode, maybe win 3 in a row to end the season or something, just to get us into the right mode for next year. I can't wait.

Actually it was 4 plays that really killed us. Know what they are?

1 & goal on the 5 and you pass FOUR times. Someone expain to me why we are putting the game in Gus' hands when he is just supposed to be a care taker? If our 2 RB's can't get 5 yards on 4 carries then we don't deserve to win tie the game either way.

My biggest point and a bunch of you just proved it to me is that it isn't our choaching that is at fault here. Even though a bunch of people make mistakes, they also have plays that they make to help the team as well. Chambers on that botched play got open for a touchdown. McMike has made numerous plays this season. How many has Reggie Howard made? What's his ratio of good plays to bad plays?

Thank You! Did we not learn from last week? Run the ball with Ronnie!! If he gets stuffed on 1st, run it again. You then have 3rd to do play action if needed. It's 4 down territory - how many times has RB been stopped with no gain? For NE to stop him 4 times - no way. Now wold he get 5 tough yards - who knows but RB has to have the ball. I'm not blaming this game on Linehan he has been a great addition But he gets too carried away with the pass sometimes. That's okay if you have Peyton at QB not Gus.

The heart breaker was McMichaels fumble before half. This team would have been up 10-0 or 14-0 and getting the ball to start the 2nd half. I can't fault Randy he was getting up and trying to make a play for more yards. It's just the way the game has been going for this team. NE made the play and that changed the whole game.

I hate to say it, but I felt the same thing with that fumble. Sure the team would be in the game, but after the missed field goal, the fumble was just one too many missed oportunities.

It's funny how this team is almost good enough to overcome its many mistakes. In a screwy way it gives me hope for the future.

People on this board get WAY too high after a win....and WAY to low after a loss. It really gets old sometimes. Through 9 games, I have seen alot to be excited about (Ronnie Brown, improved offensive line play, & Channing Crowder). That being said, the Dolphins have several large holes that could not have been filled by Saban last off-season.

Remember that the last several draft classes have been horrible. We can thank Dave & Rick for that. Realistically, expectations should hve been tempered for this season.

Saban & Mueller are going to have some $$$ under the cap next season, another complete draft class, & another opportunity to fill in some gaps with free agency.

Please stop predicting our final W-L record. Its pointless and baseless.
