Hey guys, I am going to try and keeps these going this year. Past few have been very busy.

As always I try to combine all the major Power Rankings sites I can find into one Dolphins based Power ranking thread.

I then average them out by week and by season. Its pretty neat how close they usually are by seasons end.

Anyway.....

Here are the rankings for Week 1. Enjoy!

The Dolphins sit here in part because of an easy AFC East -- is it the easiest division in football? The team could take a step forward as Ryan Tannehill develops, but then, consider the state of the Dolphins' backups.

Dave Hyde of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel wrote a terrific quick-hitter on those and more Dolphins-related topics -- and I nodded my head in agreement at every line. This team can compete, but it had better stay healthy. Meanwhile, if Lamar Miller starts, it has to be because he's solid -- and not merely because Daniel Thomas stinks.

They are a trendy pick to push the Patriots in the division, but I just don't see it. Do you?

Ryan Tannehill has a new toy. No player has more receiving touchdowns at least 20 yards downfield since 2009 than new Dolphins wideout Mike Wallace.

[SIZE=+0]The defense has a chance to be stout, thanks to the offseason additions of Brent Grimes, Dannell Ellerbe and Phillip Wheeler. Will the offense keep pace? Miami has yet to see it all come together on that side of the football.

The Dolphins made some high-profile additions in free agency, but they are big risk/big reward type signings due to limited amount of experience. I'm not sure the additions make much of a difference in terms of wins and losses this season.

Our bloggers gave Miami one vote for 17th in these rankings and one vote for 29th. This is tough team to predict. On the one hand, they have a talented young quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. On the other hand, they have a big hole in the offensive line, especially at left tackle. History hasn't been kind to the offseason's big spenders.

Favorite non hot brizzle signature so far....oh yeah, and thanks for that info
