pat kirwan said he was told from top down that ricky williams is the best player on this football team

pat kirwan said we will use a bill parcells staple on offense.
we will work out of either a 2 te 2 back 1 wr set or a bunch formation with ted ginn jr split wide on the opposite side. said he felt that henne is ready right now to work out of both. said with ginn split wide he can run post routes all day long and all that henne has to read is the safety. if he creeps to the bunch we go to ginn on the post if he backpedals towards the post we go bunch side.

pat kirwan and tim ryan both said there's something different about henne than the other qbs. said he seemed like the guy with the most upside.

kirwan said right now that with crowder, ayodele and torbor inside lb is a strength of this team.

kirwan said if the olbs don't get consistent pressure on the qb that he can see very early in the season us switching to a 4-3 defensive look. said he still doesn't know if we have the right personnel for a 3-4 right now.

during marino interview he said "i can still throw it." gotta love dan

bill parcells told kirwan to watch jayson foster "he will amaze you."

back with more later

jake long from pat kirwan

ready as a run blocker now and needs work on pass pro.
reminds kirwan of jumbo elliott

didnt say a whole lot there.

I wonder if it was Jayson Foster in the interview with bill parcells on hbo when Bill said on the practice field " look out for that guy now, hes got some juice"

sounds like bill loves the guy.

right now interviewing keith davis not much going on.

davis was asked about the qbs and he gave the beat around the bush answer.

kirwan keeps saying he's not sure we're ready for a 3-4 defense. davis disagrees

davis said ginns routes much crisper and that his head for the game has come a long way. recognizes coverage

kirwan and davis gushing about ricky williams

they keep sayinh how much parcells loves foster. kirwan says a dante hall type

It was Jayson Foster. He said "that little guy has some juice!" and he was talking to John Bonamego, the STs coach...so it's really not difficult to infer. Foster has been getting a lot of work on returns, more than Ginn (because they know what Ginn has), and I doubt that the "little guy" would be Davone Bess because he's not an exciting return man.

More Parcells man-love for Jayson Foster. More evidence he will absolutely make this team. Parcells would be trying to keep Foster under wraps if he thought they were going to end up trying to waive him and stash him on the practice squad. Instead he's talking about Foster to anyone that will listen.

you hit that one on the head ck.

foster and ricky williams plus alot of love for henne thus far

Thanks for the synopsis, btw. Good stuff. I think the man love by Kirwan etc for Henne is very encouraging on one hand, but on the other hand very typical and so it's hard for me to say it is significant.

no prob. i may not always agree with you ck but i in just this short time i've been here totally respect you. always look forwrd to talking football with you.

interviewing smiley and fasano now.

pat and tim said watched the 1st hour of practice today and the entire thing was fundamentals. footwork and hand placement. back to the fundamentals

kirwan keeps talkin 2 te and 2 backs sets as a staple. fasano and smiley agree

no real work as far as any gameplanning for tampa to date

I wonder if the Tuna's overt man love for Foster is more than it seems though. On the surface, you'd think...well, Dave Meggett is one of his all time favorite players so that's it. But, on the other hand, look what he did with Lorenzo Booker cashing him in for a 4th. It could be Parcells just realizes that in this game, it's not hard to find a little guy with exciting open field ability, get him some opportunities and then get the propaganda machine working on the guy until some team always makes the mistake of thinking that a smaller player like that is worth more than he really is.

I mean, when it comes to walking the walk...Parcells is undoubtedly putting the ball in the hands of 220+ pound monsters like Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Jalen Parmele and Lex Hilliard. I wonder if his overt praise for Foster has to do with the thought that it's not THAT rare to find a guy like that even as a UDFA, it's not difficult to put him in position to make some open field plays and get some GM's wangus hard, and then you can package him off, rinse and repeat.

It's just that the tone of all his attention to Foster strikes me as almost used car salesman.

Likewise. And contrary to popular belief, I don't want everyone to agree with me. It's boring. :)

They'd better keep their mouth shut! LOL. This regime likely won't take kindly to giving away our offensive tendencies!

i can see that. does seem a bit much. kirwan calls him dante hall type player.

And what's cool about that is let's say we did put him in position to make almost a Dante Hall type impact...we could trade him right off to someone because lo and behold Ted Ginn is still on roster long term and can handle return duties any time we want.

That might explain the unusual emphasis they seemed to place on finding and trying out players with good return ability.
