I dont want Daunte as the starter but i have no control over that. Regardless of what i want though we all know Daunte's knee is not 100% and i think he pushed himself to get back because he wanted to start but if he doesnt sit out the net few games and keeps taking the hits and doesnt let his knee heal completely he might not start ever again because he might not be able to walk

I dont think the coaches would risk that if they new that his knee was not healthy. I believe its mental.
What confuses me is that he looked ok in preseason. Granted he wasnt going agains starters all the time but didnt look this bad. Benching him will only delay what has to happen. Hes had to go out there and do it. Otherwise it never will. I just hope it does not take long.

I dont think its 100% but I do believe it to be around 98% Which to be honest is around the best he will ever expect from it again.

Right now the only thing stopping Daunte from playing great is Daunte. He is in his own head right now and struggling. He needs a good week soon and I think you'll see him come out of it. Hopefully this week will be good for him to not see so many defenders in his face.

You hit the nail on the head my friend...........:dolphins:

if the supporting cast had done their job, maybe Daunte wouldn't be so shellshocked. NOBODY stepped up and helped him when he needed it the most...except for Ronnie..HE has done his job.

well our line has likely not helped his mental recovery.. look for maximum pass protection sets...but guys have to get open. And as its been argued... we need to run the damn rock!

I'm an outsider looking in (Pats fan). From my vantage point, I think a big part of Dante's problem has been protection. He was sacked 5 times in the first 20 plays or so. Couple that with maybe thinking about the knee a bit and you have potential problems. The team has simply got to do a better job protecting him. He always had some issues concerning holding on to the ball with the Vikings.

I agree with you.

Sitting Daunte only slows his progress. The man just needs to play, play all the kinks out. We played musical chairs with Feidler and Feeley and it did nothing but make for erratic play from both QB's.

we have the largest, highest paid coaching staff in the nfl. short of inventing a "percent meter" for knees, this staff is responsible for this problem. They had all offseason & preseason to evaluate.
