The Miami Dolphins' Patrick Turner isn't going to confuse anyone for Randy Moss, but at 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, he can make things a lot easier for veteran quarterback Chad Pennington. No matter how high Ted Ginn Jr. can leap, he can't match the value of a tall receiver on third-down and red-zone situations.

Turner has impressed folks in Miami with his soft hands since the team made him a third-round pick in April's NFL draft. The ex-USC Trojan is not a burner (that's Ginn's job), but if he properly uses his size to box out the secondary and works on efficiently running routes, he could find himself getting plenty of time on the field in pressure spots.

I hope he becomes what Wilford was supposed to be, i have a feeling he will. Parcells doesn't usually miss too often on a particular position

I honestly think he is going to start week 1. I just have a feeling..

I love the pick and I hope he becomes a great reciever for us

Just what is it that you guys think this kid brings, that will give him the edge over his competition.

I find no reason whatsoever to believe that this player will ever be more than a #5, or more likely, just another forgotten name in a few years.

Well that is just like all the new recruits. None of the new guys has played a down. yet here are all these people thinking Pat White is going to revolutionize the NFL.

But people like to be optimistic which is good. And your opinion of what the kid will not change that. Personally I don't know to much about the kid but it looks like he has decent size and from the sound of it he has decent hands. So take it for what its worth. He could be the next big thing in Miami or he could be just another failed draft pick.

Personally for me since it is still early I am hoping the kid does great.

Turner probably will never have a 1000 yrd season, but if he can have 700yrd 6-8 TD's annually..
He's no 6'5 Moss/A.Johnson type.. But he'll help..

Too much emphsis is put on a number 1 WR. Turner wasn't drafted for that purpose. The team is giving Ginn one more year for that. Turner was drafted for third downs and the red zone. He showed tremendous improvement his senior season. Miami moved the ball well between the 20s last year, but struggled in the red zone. People also complain Turner's 40 time is to slow. Tell that to the Cowboys. Emmit Smith ran a 4.7 in the 40. A lot of teams were sorry they passed on that slow RB.

I think Turner has the ability to be a 1,000 yard WR. He was, after all, the first or second (depending on the list) WR recruit coming out of high school. While he doesn't have great speed, he runs well enough and very smooth. He's effortless in his motions. With his size and hands, he should be a very good WR.

Of course, no one knows whether or not he'll utilize his talents.

Turner is Tall and he can catch the Ball. Besides his small pinkies he can manhandle a Twinkie. No cream puff here. No bum steer. He’ll catch TD’s and pull the posts down. Better hair than average. He’s gonna be a savage! Get out of the way you cheating patsie billy goat slime. Patrick Turner can snag a dime.
