I am a rutgers fan and hava all the respect in the world for thi kid he has huge play abilities and has a very good set of hand especially for a HB, it is possible he can drop pretty far, last year he was in the running for the heisman but this year started splitting carries with noel and had a few minor injuries i feel like he would be a steal if we could make him into our new "welker" type slot player just a thought

booker will be a lot better slot than welker was for us or slatan could ever be, look at his catches at the end of the season, leading reciever for a few games, as a rb, unheard of
no need even if he is a "steal"
this is just home town love

It depends on how long it will take him to learn how to run pass routes, to defeat man-to-man coverage and all the other things it takes to be a receiver.

I absolutely love Slaton, I've said it before on here a couple times, I'd like to have him no matter what position he plays.

I hope he somehow falls to us in with the first pick of the 4th round and I'd jump all over him. He really didn't impress at the combine (though he ran a 4.44 fourty) so it is possible, as a lot of sites I've seen have him listed somewhere around the 8th best back and going between the 3rd and 4th round. The kid was a phenom his Freshman and Sophomore years, and if not for Pat White getting more carries than him the last half of the season, he would have put up much better numbers. oh yeah, and NO FUMBLES his entire CAREER.

2006 he had over 2,000 yards total offense and 18 total TD's...
Here's a good article about him and a guess as to why his production dropped off in 2007. For the most part, it seems to be the movement of the offense from focusing on him to Pat White. It's not like he had a bad season, he just wasn't used as much, as he still averaged over 5 yards per carry.

All I know is, I've seen what he's capable of... And I still think if he would have stayed his senior season, he would be a top 15 pick next year in the 2009 draft.

no fumbles for his career is completely wrong. ive seen him fumble on several occasions. on back to back plays actually after he had hurt his wrist or hand last year.

hes soft. cant break tackles. is small. and played in a gimmick option offense, which always inflats RBs YPC by a lot.

personally i wouldnt touch him. i dont like soft football players.

Slaton never showed up in a big game, as a Rutgers fan you should know that.

I personally don't think he will be a good pro.

You're right...

Crazy, I checked 3 different sites for stats before posting that and all of them said 0 fumbles, but I found the game against Louisville you were talking about. I stand corrected!

No fumbles in his entire career? I think you need to look at his game against Louisville his Sophomore year. After a great first half, Slaton opened the second half by fumbling on his first two carries.

If I'm not mistaken he fumbled three times in a Rutgers game before he was taken out.
