1. Robert Nkemdiche / Ole Miss / 6'4", 295 (Explosive lined up as a 3-Tech. Not as flashy or disruptive lined up as DE)

2. A'Shawn Robinson / Alabama / 6'4", 317

3. Montravius Adams / Auburn / 6'4", 300

4. Andrew Billings / Baylor / 6'2", 300 (Weight room freak could squat 800 pounds coming out of high school)

5. Chris Jones / Mississippi St. / 6'5", 305 (Has more upside than any player here. Has to get more consistent with technique)

6. Adam Butler / Vanderbilt / 6'5", 305 (Switched over from offensive line in spring of 2013. Gets better every year)

I still really like Kenny Clark of UCLA. I'd love to get your opinion on him. I've been watching some of the other guys and watching him, and without the need to get into 500 words on a guy, I'd just say two short phrases:

1. Activity level
2. Both phases

I would agree with that. Although I'd like to see him develop into more of a pass rusher to propel himself into the upper tier here for me.

Kenny Clark is certainly an NFL player in my opinion. Now that Vanderdoes is out for the season, I’d move Clark up one spot here. He’s always been a tremendous athlete for his size, and he’s getting better at rushing the passer. Extremely active and finds the football. He’s not just running around out there. With his mate Eddie V gone, he’ll have to make even more plays.

I enjoyed watching the play vs. Virginia where they lined him up at TE and threw him a TD pass. This speaks to his athleticism. Robert Nkemdiche is the only other DT I’ve seen score a TD this year on offense…..but he’s an entirely different caliber of athlete all together. This kid moves like a 230 pound linebacker. A true “1% percenter”. His spin move is unblockable because he’s so quick and explosive.

Nkemdiche has begun to separate and establish himself this year as a legitimate force. He always flashed, but lacked consistency. Now he consistently flashes. He’s on his way.

Yeah watching Nkemidiche this year has been a different experience altogether from the past.

The thing that actually attracts me to Kenny Clark is the thing that he probably needs to work on most which is as you say pass rush. What attracts me to him so much though is the potential he shows this way. His hands are so good, violent. He forklifts linemen then jerks them to the side and gets free to the quarterback. The Arizona game was constructive for him this way. He probably just needs to develop more of a repertoire for getting through to the passer, but then again at that position you don't have to have a full complement in order to be effective that way.

And when it comes to taking on double teams in run defense, he can really get flat-backed and root himself to the ground. That's impressive. That's why I like his potential for both phases.

He reminds me of Kawann Short but probably a little bit better athlete.

I was going to make that comp for him. 100% agree.

Upside? Andrew Billings isn't even 20 years old yet. The guy is a freak and has crazy power and acceleration. He would do good work next to Suh. He kind of reminds me of Aaron Donald with the way he finds the QB or ballcarrier after first contact. But that's just from watching highlights, so...

Really you could easily argue BPA at 8 will be Billings or Robinson.

Hassan Ridgeway of Texas is an intriguing kid. Very disruptive - not huge but collapses the pocket well and plays with the motor on full revs. Keeps his head up too, has some smarts.

Say Miami goes defensive tackle at #8 who you got...Andrew Billings or A'Shawn Robinson?

For me it's A'Shawn and I'm not sure it's that close. Among the two choices you gave me, anyway.

Thanks. That's kind of the direction I was headed, although I have seen Robinson a lot more than Billings over the last several years.

I think A'Shawn is the safest pick. I think Vernon Butler has the highest ceiling. I think he could be special.
