Smart Football

Kinda tedious scanning past the rhetoric but some interesting ideas/opinions are there, especially in the comments.

Good article.

I do agree 100% about trying to watch a game on TV vs. being there. When the Pats are on the road, I find it almost impossible to enjoy the game. I love my nosebleed seats at Gillette because I can focus where I want to, not where the camera is pointed. It's interesting to see the defense set up against the spread offense, and to see where / what the safties will do.

On TV, you can't see how the defenses are set up at all most of the time, at least until the last second before the snap.

Ask a player about it. They think it's a joke that some 'analyst' thinks he can tell diddly from watching tapes of TV broadcasts. The only way to do it at all is to watch the teams game tapes, and we can only see those on NFL Matchup (best NFL show on TV).

I would be thrilled to see our WC offense be succesful again this year, and Hopefully Pat White does well in that position as well. It will open up a whole new type of talent pool in the NFL. Will make Defense Coordinators have to think again of ways to stop or slow it down. Will make Offensive Coordinators around the league consider to adapt or stick to their ancient ways.
