Vernon Davis called his younger brother, Vontae, this week to welcome him, finally, to the NFL.

Even though Vontae Davis, the Dolphins rookie cornerback and first-round draft pick has played significantly in every game this year - and made a veteran-like interception return for a touchdown two week ago against Buffalo - his brother said it is not until about the fifth game of the season that he would truly settle in as a pro. Vernon, a fourth-year starting tight end with San Francisco, should know.

"It's the fifth game and it feels like 20," Vontae Davis said. "By this time you're not thinking anymore. Now, you just start playing. You start to get comfortable. The game's not so fast anymore."

Really Vontae? You really get to say that after your last game? He should probably get out of his own head since he didn't play like the game had gotten any slower for him. It took Vernon 4 years to play like a pro. What in the hell are the Davis' talking about... BUT I agree that I like players to view progression from game to game and not year to year.

what are you talking about?

He only gave up 1 or 2 big plays.People are WAY overlooking the secondary play. The Jets didnt even get 200 yards passing on us,and as far as completion on Vontae, the only "real" one that sticks out is the 360 Braylon Edwards catch, but even still, hes a rookie, and Braylon is just a freak of nature.

Hes the only player on D that has a touchdown.

Some of you fans expectations from rookies are unbelievably unrealistic and unfair.

Calm down. You just made my point. He is a rookie, now look at the title of this thread.

Maybe if Vontae had some safety help over top of him, Braylon doesn't scorch his side of the field. Gibril Wilson can't cover a damn thing.

Maybe you should just log off FH for the day and go watch the NYJ and the Pats lose.
