“I already think he does (belong there),” Dansby said. “ He just hasn’t finished some of the plays that he’s supposed to finish or he would have been there. That’s what I told him two years ago and now he’s starting to see it and he’s starting to walk it and he’s starting to believe, he’s starting to sacrifice and do the right things that he needs to do to dedicate himself to this game. He’s a stud. He’s a stud. No doubt about it. No doubt about it.”

Smith unquestionably is unique when it comes to NFL cornerbacks, starting with the fact he’s unusually tall for the position at 6 feet 3.

Read more at link above. Been awhile since we had a shutdown backfield, but hopefully Davis and Smith can mature into a leathal combo this year. :emjai:

Of course he's starting to "get it" now, and put in the work....

IT'S ALMOST NEW CONTRACT TIME!

I am sick of hearing about his potential. I want to see him actually be a lockdown corner.

He and Vontae talked a lot of **** last year before they came out and look like out-of-shape pansies against the Pats. I am not impressed with Smith and "if he only caught all the ints" crap. He is a sub-par DB. Period. I don't give a **** about all the PFF bull****.

All I ever see is a bunch of talk. Dansby's always blabbing pipe dreams.

Who's even backed up what they talked to any extent? ... no one I can recall the last few years. Wake did a little, but he doesn't even big talk.

The team's buying tarp's to cover seats ... time to shut up & play. Wouldn't even mind talking about hard work & prep ... but they big talk!!

Man I love Dansby, dude repeats **** all the ****ing time, all the ****ing time.

I was gonna get a candy bar; the button I was supposed to push was “HH”, so I went to the side, I found the “H” button, I pushed it twice. ****in’…potato chips came out, man, because they had an “HH” button for Christ’s sake! You need to let me know. I’m not familiar with the concept of “HH”. I did not learn my AA-BB-CC’s. God god, dammit dammit.

I think this is the year Smith breaks out! Toward the end of last year he started making plays. What worries me more is the safety positions!

Dansby is grossly overpaid at this point and Smith has shown that he hasn't the speed to keep up with quick receivers in this league. He needs to play smart and be in position more often. For such a big guy he's as soft as they come. Never presses anyone for more than a split second. It's just laughable that at 6'3 you can't handle a light weight 5' 10 slot receiver with ease.

He needs to man up or Marshall will be taking his spot.
